Paper is beautiful even with just one fold and some sunshine ;-))
Livin' on the edge and trying to keep your balance.
It reminded me of the song by Aerosmith - Livin' On The Edge:

Found our way to the old boathouse at the Entrance today. And yep, there were plenty of old boats there! Going to go back after school holidays have finished and hire one for some relaxing floating about the lake. Will be very different to my kayak!
3 bracketed exposures combined in Photomatix. Haven't done a HDR pic for a while, was quite addicted to them years ago.
Happy Wednesday out there :)

Hello there,
This past fall was quite the year for gladiolas and this is the first red one that I'd ever encountered. The red and green combo reminds me of Christmas even though there wasn't any snow on the flower stem.
Thank you for taking the time to look and for leaving me a comment! Have a lovely day!

Hello there,
I couldn't help but notice this vibrant lily while on a recent neighbourhood walk. I really liked its vibrant colours in contrast to the greens.
Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving me a comment. I do love hearing from you!
Have a wonderful day!

For Remembrance..... The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918.
Armistice is Latin for to stand (still) arms.
Hello There!
Even though they weren't fully ripe, I liked the colours of these berries. I spotted them on a neighbourhood walk this past summer.

My submission for the Looking Close on Friday theme of red and green. I have posted similar shots to this as I did a number of shots of this particular rose but this shot has never been uploaded before.
For the Looking Close on Friday theme of red and green.
See, I do own things of other colors, besides blue …. giggling

Another 'orphan' from the garden. The birds and the frosts have taken most of the rose hips from our wild rose bushes. But this one hip I brought indoors as my daily garden forage for anything photogenic! I thought it might match the glaze on one of my miniature Japanese vases.
The vase is under 1" tall - so hopefully this counts as a macro.
Have a happy weekend, and stay safe and warm!

A heavy downpour to cool the summer heat and turn the grass and trees a lush green.

Rainy Night in Georgia - performed by Brook Benton, my favourite recording.
Hello there,
These bright red berries are a major hit for several bird species, especially Cedar Waxwings. In fact, I went back to this small tree a week or two after this shot and I heard waxwings. I waited and waited, but I realized that they were feeding at the back side of the tree for which I had no access. I came back the next day and most of the berries were gone (and so were the Cedar Waxwings).
Red elderberry trees are quite hardy and can be found in the wild or planted in home gardens/properties. They grow to about 8-15 feet tall. If the birds don't get to them first, the berries can be used to make wine or jelly.

Taken for the "Cotton" theme for Macro Mondays. This was a Christmas gift for Cosmo. He's pretty much destroyed this "durable" toy.
I really appreciate any Views, Faves and Comments and I will try to visit your sites in due course. Thank you so much.

I bought this Hotel Del mini ornament back in 2010. Every year this historical landmark of Coronado, CA presents a new ornament and decorates their tree with a new theme each year. I have three of their ornaments and this one is my favorite. Their tree is absolutely breathtaking and this hotel is definitely worth visiting if you are ever in San Diego, CA.
