Scenes from our winter vacation to Riviera Maya Mexico in March 2024. We enjoyed a perfect sunny week at the Vidanta Grand Mayan, spending our days lounging on the beach and taking frequent walks to capture the sights and energy along the shore.

This is School Nutrition Employee Appreciation Week and Friday, May 3 is School Lunch Hero Day and, to celebrate the recognition of our staff dedicated to keeping students well fed, the DMPS Food & Nutrition Department each year presents the “All About the Kids” Award. Think of it as their version of an employee of the year award. On Thursday morning, not one but two people at Ruby Van Meter School were honored for 2024: Brian Wilkinson, the head cook, and Jill Gray, the school’s clerk. The lunchroom at RVM was packed with students, teachers and staff who came to celebrate the good work that goes into the nutritional care and feeding that takes place at school.
Fiesta Espuma!! Also known as Foam Party - I always wanted to experience one of these. Lots of great energy to capture through my lens, though in reality it was a small party in a very large pool and only un poco de espuma. Nonetheless there was clearly fun to be had. Happy to check this one off my bucket list and stay dry at the same time, here at the Vidanta Grand Mayan in Riviera Maya March 2024.

Perhaps it's the 2 for 1 Piña Coladas at play here... Chuck trying to remain level on one of the distinctive palapa piers at our resort, the Vidanta Grand Mayan, during our winter vacation to Riviera Maya in March 2024. We enjoyed a perfect sunny week here mostly lounging and enjoying happy hour, twice a day.

Collab Art Murals were a success at RVMS! Congrats to all of the amazing and talented artists in Ms Crespo's 8th grade classes. Every piece was important and they worked together as a team to accomplish each mural. Some students took leadership roles and others went around and helped other students when their piece was done. Way to go RVMS artists!

Aside from lounging on the beach we took frequent walks to capture the sights and energy along the shore. The warm shallow waters of the tide pools are a popular spot to lounge and explore the water's edge.
