Some of the most bizarre second hand purchases by Luton & District in the mid-1990's included a batch of little Talbot Pullman Expresses which were bought from Stagecoach East Midlands. For quite some time these buses trundled around Luton in their old livery. Some even made it into the red and cream livery before being withdrawn.
This is Luton and District no.86, D86 RVM and is seen in Silver Street in 1993.

This is Luton and District no.80, D80 RVM, and is seen in Silver Street in 1992, pulling up behind one of L&D's now famous Alexander bodied Olympians, no.634, being one of the earlier withdrawals. Some of the batch are still going strong today.
