I am..., a series at Riverview March, 2010.
We cut out 4ft circles from MDF sheets, painted them white and designed brackets to hang them on the wall with a 3in space between the circles and the wall. The background projection was carefully set up to project onto the circles different designs each week.

This latest rash of pictures are my attempts to edit as little as possible. I sharpen all of my images, often quite a bit - I like things looking neat. All I did to this one was rotate and crop it - the original was lopsided. Ah well.

A four alarm fire broke out at Cocheco Towers in Dover today. I happened to be in the area so I took a few photos of the scene.
Today, even though I was so tired I’ve done little other than shower and lay down all day, Dracula took me to a cemetery I can tell I’m going to be visiting over and over again. Riverview Cemetery in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This is one of the oldest cemeteries here in town and home of a fabled weeping woman statue. I felt out of sorts, as I’m fully exhausted and still pretty dysregulated from the last week of U-hauls, driving, moving, and cleaning. I am so excited to get to know this town even more and find all the beautiful cemeteries.
Riverview is a psychiatric hospital. The Westlawn building is an unused building of an otherwise active institution. Security drove past me, but didn't escort me off the premises. It was really windy causing my eye makeup to run and my hair stand on end...probably they thought I was a permanent resident. lol.

Riverview Hospital is a mental health facility located in Coquitlam, British Columbia. Riverview opened in 1913 and had 4,630 patients at its peak in 1950.[1] In January 2009, only 256 active beds remained, in early 2012 only 3 wards remained containing less than 50 patients and as of mid June 2012 only 2 wards remain. The final two wards closed on Friday the 13th of July, 2012.
Hikers and paddlers explore the outer limits of York River State Park. Beaunie (Boney) was there to greet us.

September 27 marked a unique astrological event -- a Supermoon Eclipse. (You can also see Wired for an informative article and video clip.) The event was noteworthy because it combined a full moon, lunar perigee (or ''Supermoon''), and a total lunar eclipse (also known as a ''Blood Moon''). I was excited to witness this special event, but disappointed to see a heavy cloud covering when I stepped into our backyard. Fortunately, there were occasional breaks in the clouds -- though I wasn't able to get very good photos with my iPhone or Canon, since neither has a high-powered lens. I took this shot during during the height of the total lunar eclipse, when the moon was at its reddest; I took this with my iPhone without zooming, which is why the moon only appears as a tiny reddish dot near the top of the frame. I attempted to zoom in for a closer view (see the next couple of pics), though the photos didn't come out very clearly since the iPhone only has a digital (and not optical) zoom...
