10. The main first floor of the International Independent Showmen's Museum, 6938 Riverview Dr., Riverview, FL, includes a 1950 Allan Herschell Co., "American Beauty Carousel," front. The carousel was used in a "kiddieland" setting for children to ride. In the background is a Conderman Ferris Wheel, built in 1903 which was used in upstate New York from the 1940's until the 1960's.
The small section of track on the left crosses the roadway directly beneath the elevated approach to the Jefferson Street bridge in Rockford, IL. Today, even though I was so tired I’ve done little other than shower and lay down all day, Dracula took me to a cemetery I can tell I’m going to be visiting over and over again. Riverview Cemetery in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This is one of the oldest cemeteries here in town and home of a fabled weeping woman statue. I felt out of sorts, as I’m fully exhausted and still pretty dysregulated from the last week of U-hauls, driving, moving, and cleaning. I am so excited to get to know this town even more and find all the beautiful cemeteries.
