These are the steps ascending to the Mississippi River overlook at Riverview Park in Alton, Illinois. The second I saw these I had to take a shot. They screamed at me of a dilapidated remnant of the early 20th Century - 1920s or 30's. With this in mind, I just couldn't take a photo and leave it the way it was in perfect brilliant digital color. I had to give the photo a bit more "character". This image is the fruit of my effort

Last Tuesday's Kool April Nites Show & Shine at Riverview County Club. The sky looked a bit ominous as the next day's weather wasn't ideal for a car show.
Little known fact, my grandfather was a founding member of Riverview. He played in the first club tournament and came in second.
The Riverview Park encompasses 251 acres. It is not as big as other parks we've been, but it's still a good park. The Allegheny Observatory is what's unique to the park. But I also think its multiple trail loops is interesting, because I have seen more out-and-back trails. So I definitely enjoy the loops. It's easy to extend and shorten the hike, and still keep it interesting.
