Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment, and favoring my images. Enjoy the day.
The best adventurers travel by red line, so when we moved West we naturally choose that method!
We're Here and surrounded by mishap adventure!
Tripod-mounted for the portrait of a dashing young man and hand-held for the road atlas. Both lit by a remote-triggered strobe on a stand. Ton of work done to select the hair & draw the line & selectively amend the opacity of the Doofus in the hat. HSS! ;-)
The days are still warm enough for Butterfly's, this Red Admiral flew past and landed very close, I managed to get this one shot, but as soon as i stepped forward, it flew off.
Houseful of 11 year old boys intent on an evening of eating pizza and watching horror movies ... what is one to do but escape to the backyard and then the computer for some flickr-play at sunset?
“Red", I write "is the color of life. It's blood, passion, rage. It's menstrual flow and after birth. Beginnings and violent end. Red is the color of love. Beating hearts and hungry lips. Roses, Valentines, cherries. Red is the color of shame. Crimson cheeks and spilled blood. Broken hearts, opened veins. A burning desire to return to white.” - Mary Hogan, Pretty Face
This was just a grab shot, but I liked the positions of the birds. Not sure what the lead duck was doing, perhaps, got caught in a wind gust, or showing off her undercarriage or maybe just trying out some new banking techniques. It was quite windy, so that may have had a bearing on it.

The Red Fields - A photo of our fields in Alentejo, Móra, Portugal this time of the year ! The colors are true only with a light HDR. The trees are the Cork Oak (Quercus suber); "Sobreiro" in Portuguese.
The color red is given by Rumex acetosella, is a species of sorrel, bearing the common names sheep's sorrel, red sorrel, sour weed, and field sorrel. Em Portugal chamamos de erva-azeda.
These massive males really get themselves into a strop and show the deer's version of throwing all the toys out of the pram.
Not wise to get too near as they are, when in such a mood, quite unpredictable.
I just stood a respectful distance away and happily clicked to try and capture the moments.
This chap having gained some composure displayed his trophies of turf hanging from his antlers.
A wider shot of one I uploaded a couple of weeks ago. Squire Anderton's Wood, before Storm Claudia removed the leaves, and before the groundsman had blown the leaves from the verges! (Yes, he must have done that as my later photos show them neatly lying on the other side of the railings.)
I'm looking forward to some mist, hopefully with sun too, at this place.

Deep red, with a flaming yellow throat, this lily was really calling attention to itself in a crowded herbaceous border
Busy and worrying times for the red stags as they battle for dominance in the highly competitive rut.
Six weeks of not eating and during which they lose a lot of weight but that allows stronger younger stags an opportunity to take over the harems and so improve the blood lines.
Impressive to watch but not if you are an ambitious stag
This stag did cause me some concern as frankly I do not trust him and he did not trust me as he stepped slowly one step at a time nearer to me but I allowed discretion of take over and I slowly retreated.
Thank you for your visit, for the kind and critical comments as well as for the favourites.
