Medium-sized WP's. The males are much bolder and raucous than the females. They are often located by listening for their calls. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

I planted this dahlia three years ago. It comes up every spring by itself without any special care. This year my husband thought it was a weed and mowed it in spring. So I was so shocked and sad but few weeks later it came up again! This Dahlia is so strong, carefree and beautiful! :)
This is Alina.
She is red-headed. Her hair is of amazing colour and it was a great pleasure to take some shot of her! =)

Red-winged Blackbirds trilled loudly in the marshes at Lake St. Clair Metropark. They were in the reeds, in the trees, on the grassy areas, but not en masse. Instead they had staked out their areas several weeks earlier. A large number of Red-wings did congregate at the Nature Center feeders, outside of the marsh.
