I wish you a good day or good night !!!
The red-headed woodpecker is a striking North American bird. It's easily recognized by its bold, crimson head, neck, and throat. Its body is a sharp contrast of black wings and back with a bright white underbelly.
This medium-sized woodpecker is known for its aerobatic flight and distinctive drumming. Unlike many woodpeckers, it’s an omnivore, feeding on insects, nuts, fruits, and even the occasional small vertebrate. It also caches nuts and other bits of food in the bark of a favorite tree.
Our beautiful world, pass it on.

My other post-lockdown escape this week, an opportunity to give the car its first proper run in months, and to show a bit of support for a worthy cause.
The refraction came kind as a surprise because I made this one with a blinded window in the background. Must be the distorted window frame. I actually like it.

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment, and favoring my images. Enjoy the day.
I now have a blog post up about my trip to the red squirrels at Forest How, with more information about the trip, and how to get the best out of a visit yourself.
The last day of the training for the Red Arrows in 2015 over their base at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire. The weather wasn't the expected blue sky and sunshine for this mornings flying. Instead it was cloudy and dull. Never mind, still managed a few photos as they went roaring past.
my week's objective is to shoot and upload only red stuff.
and I realize that red is all over, anywhere and everywhere.
Red Kites love worms and a field being ploughed is a major draw for them. I managed to miss such an event a few years ago on one of those days when I decided not to take the camera. I wasn't missing this one as I stamped on the brakes and jumped out of the car, this time with the camera. Light not brilliant but I did my best.
Many thanks to all who comment, fave or just enjoy looking, it really is very much appreciated!

The Large Red Damselfly(Pyrrhosoma nymphula) is Britain's most common red damselfly. It can be found in
most wetland habitats living around the edges of ponds, lakes, ditches and canals, and also be found away from breeding sites in grassland and woodland, but it avoids fast flowing water. The earliest damselfly to emerge, it is on the wing from the end of April through to August.
The Large Red Damselfly has black legs and dark pterostigma (wing spots)The male has a red abdomen with black markings and the thorax is black with red antehumeral stripes. The female has three colour forms ranging from mostly red to mostly black with small yellow markings. Some colour forms have red antehumeral stripes on the thorax, some have yellow stripes.
What I believe to be a light juvenile red-tailed hawk shrieking loudly as it circled the trees by Mill Pond. Playing around with birds in flight with the Nikon Z8. I don't think I will be getting rid of my faithful D850 any time soon.
