Summer programs are winding down at Elsie Quirk Library...

 

...Today is the last day to turn in your reading log at the library in the "Every Reader Wins!" program.

...Winners will be announced tomorrow (August 9) in the "End of Summer Reading Incentive Drawing."

...And, August 9 is also the date for the YMCA Back to School Bash at the Englewood YMCA. (Stop by the Elsie Quirk Library booth if you go!)

On a rainy Saturday afternoon, C17 991 rolls into Esk on 361Down from Toogoolawah. There will be no customers for the Refreshment Rooms or Bar on this train.

Our "new" house is actually very old, I'm not sure exactly how old but it is close to a century. This little door is in the cellar/basement. It still opens and there are remnants of coal in it (along with other not so nice things). It must have been part of an old heating system, I'm guessing.
