Friday was a momentous day! We got up at 4am , went to Stafford for the 06:21 train to London arriving at 07:50. I used the Government’s live queue tracker which sent us to London Bridge as the nearest tube station to the queue only to find that the start was In Southwark Park. We went the wrong way out of the station for half a mile, before realising our(er….my) error and taking the correct route, on foot, to Southwark Park. This meant we walked over 4 miles to the start! Spent the first 4 hours zigzagging through the park to exit with an estimated 14 hours from that point. In the event we walked for 14 1/2 hours, plus 1 1/2 hours to the start. 32,000 steps, 13.7 miles. Very few places to sit, cold at times by the river and in the wind and Portaloos leave something to be desired. Went past the coffin at a couple of minutes past midnight, said our goodbyes to the people who we walked with and caught the tube to Euston. There were, of course, no trains. Spent 5 hours + on Euston station uncomfortable cold metal bum-numbing seats. Took the 07:03 Liverpool train to Stafford and we were home by around 09:15ish. Would I do it again? Yes! (But I’m glad I won’t have to!)
Bees in line for a drink at the bird bath. At any given time there are dozens of these little gals drinking there.
Same time every night (Mon to Fri) there is a queue from this mini roundabout to distant traffic lights. The road we merge from here usually only has a few cars, but to the left, the queue is already a mile long to this point.
It is of course, also a photo opportunity!
Waiting on line at the Whitney Museum. NYC
I think the piece was entitled "Heaven's Gate" and inside was a small infinity box of lights and mirrors. -- April 16, 2017

A kindly placed feeding station attracting several varieties of birds on the edge of Eyeworth pond in the New Forest. Also good for the photographers of course. Thank you whoever it was.
Thank you for your visit, comment or fave. All are much appreciated. Thank you also to all who invite my photos to their groups.

In Line at Holker Hall's busy Winter Market 2024, Cumbria. An annual 3-day weekend event, rightly popular, with some winter sunshine.
A little capture from a mild winter's walk upon the shore...
I'm hoping the mild weather will return! Have a great week!
