Protest the Hero is a Canadian progressive metal band from Whitby, Ontario.[3] Originally named Happy Go Lucky,[4] the band changed their name to Protest the Hero shortly before releasing their debut EP, Search for the Truth, in 2002. In 2005, the band released their first full-length album Kezia on the indie label Underground Operations.
On January 23, 2006, the band signed with Vagrant Records for Kezia's American release on April 4, 2006. Their second full-length album, Fortress was released by Underground Operations in Canada and by Vagrant Records worldwide on January 29, 2008.[5] The band released their third studio album, Scurrilous, on March 22, 2011.
Expressing frustrations with record labels, in January of 2013 the band announced that they would crowdfund their fourth full-length album.[6] The Indiegogo campaign was a runaway success, and the independently-released Volition debuted on October 29, 2013, distributed with the help of Razor & Tie.

Crowds of protesters continued their occupation of the capitol for the ninth day in Madison WI. High on the 3rd level, spectators strain to see the thousands on the floor and 2nd levels. Gov. Walker is uncompromising in his intent to strip public unions of bargaining rights. Protesters are equally uncompromising. The sign on the pillar implores: "stay until the whole bill is killed."

A large crowd of protesters gathered and marched along the block in front of 46th Ward Alderman James Cappleman's office at 4544 N. Broadway from 5-7pm on Wednesday March 6th. Demonstrators were protesting the Alderman's asking food trucks from organizations such as the Salvation Army and the Night Ministry to stop distributing food to the homeless in the neighborhood. Addtionally, the protesters expressed concern at the alderman's catering to gentrfying developers at the expense of the homeless and the poor. Food Not Bombs served soup during the protest, and a new group called Uptown Uprising has been formed to continue to address these concerns in their neighborhood: www.facebook.com/pages/Uptown-Uprising/173397179474980
