Hundreds of protestors marched through Melbourne's CBD on August 24, 2013 to protest against harsh new Australian government and opposition policies on refugees and asylum seekers.

Police on standby during the cuts protests in March.

Yesterday, Nick and I accidentally walked into the middle of a protest down Queen St in Auckland City being escorted by police.

Pretty much the whole of Queen St was just filled with people shouting and screaming. Some people were dancing and others had even brought their small children with them.

I noticed that a few people younger than me were holding signs as well. It made me wonder if they even knew what they were protesting against.

The whole protest was pretty much about how New Zealand shouldn't be selling their assets.. despite the fact that pretty much every other country sells their products and our economy just sucks.

I still wont appreciate this country as much as I'd like to.

Protests took place in Rochdale on Saturday 22 July 2017.

The Force worked to ensure the events took place safely and ensuring the right to protest while minimising any disruption to the local community.

Chief Superintendent Neil Evans, Borough Commander, said: “This has been a challenging day with hundreds of people attending Rochdale town centre for the protest.

“I understand that these events are very emotive and that tensions may run high when there are polarised views and counter-protests.

“However, we have worked jointly with Rochdale Council and the community to ensure the most effective way to facilitate and manage this protest in a balanced and safe manner.

“This has very much been a community focused operation aimed at reducing the impact of the protest on the normal lives of people in Rochdale.

“I would like also like to thank members of the community who have acted as mediators and helped the smooth running of today’s event.

“In order to ensure we could deliver a safe operation we deployed large numbers of police which meant another busy weekend for officers, who have worked long hours in challenging circumstances to look after our communities.

“It was pleasing to see that this protest did not stop the people of Rochdale from going about their normal activities.”

Many thanks to my dear friend Fifichat (Francoise)- here you will find many informations in FRENCH and ENGLISH:

Quotation Francoise:"*I specify for those who haven't seen the Beta page;that there is NO white area under the pictures for descriptions / comments / invitations / flickr Award Counter

Only a narrow sidebar to the right of the image ,showing ONLY the last 4 comments

White print on a black and depressive background, that hurts the eyes

No sense. Hard to write comments exceeding 2 or 3 words

We can't see who faved our pictures

We can't see the groups the pictures appear in ( except only 8 )

Awards images. are not shown in comments

Admin-Invitations are not displayed ( the last ones are visible ONLY in "Recent Activity").The oldest are lost

For admins , group management will become a work more and more difficult or even impossible

Some groups might close......and groups add visibility to our pictures

They allow us to admire beautiful works and to meet with great photographers"

Our descriptions including quotes or links to YouTube or other sites are hidden

NO LONGER ANY CONVIVIALITY.. ANY VISIBILITY . NO SENSE

In fact this layout specifically targets tablets and smartphones

Unfortunately everything we can do seems absolutely useless ....

Yahoo and Flickr don't care

Unfortunately it is obvious that Yahoo wants to turn Flickr into another social network for people (mainly teens and young ) using only tablets and smartphones and whose only interaction is Hi or Lol

Motivated photographers still using computers (with photo-softwares) and large screens are no longer desirable customers....

( nor groups since our invitations are only visible on our "Recent Activity" Page....The oldest are lost ....and everything is done to impede their functioning)

Advertising is much much more lucrative than our Pro accounts .......

How many people know what represents the Beta Page ?? I wonder ?

Only some users of the English version of Flickr ..... but not all of them

Users of any other language have not been informed.... amazing No ??"

All this is very discouraging " ****End quotation Francoise***

I use frequently the English version and realized (or I'm blind) that there is NO word, discussion or forum about the upcoming change in German.

Therefore a translation in German about the upcoming changes.

DEUTSCH:

Liebe Flickr Freunde,

Zitat Forum.

Supporters of the former Ukrainian Prime Minister and opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko carry a giant banner a with Tymoshenko portrait on it as they shout slogans such as 'Freedom for Yulia!' during a rally in downtown Kiev, Ukraine, 27 April 2012. About 2,000 protesters demanded Ukrainian authorities to release jailed Tymoshenko and to stop political repressions in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on 26 April had announced said his government would investigate alleged abuse suffered by jailed former Prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, as pressure mounted on Ukraine ahead of a European football tournament

Frankfurt Corona Protest 8.08.2020

After the big corona demonstration in Berlin, the bizarre German government decided to crack down hard. Although the Frankfurt corona protests, unlike other demonstrations, have always been peaceful, a large police force has been set in motion and the illegal requirement to wear masks during demonstrations has been used as an argument to stop the protest walk. Of course, no participant was willing to put on a mask. In extreme heat (the hottest day of the year so far) and despite the numerous other walkers who also did not have to wear a mask.

Drove out to Protestor Falls, The Channon a while back while I was home visiting my parents. It was started raining quite heavy after I got this shot so I didn't actually get to the falls but I find this shot very serene and relaxing.

I plan to go back and shoot the actual falls again soon!
