This should count for at least 2 servings of veggies, don't you think??? Especially since some Vodkas are made from potatoes and this Bloody Mary is made with Vegetable juice. I know that tomatoes are technically a fruit, but I still think of them as a veggie and the celery is definitely a veggie.

Families experiencing homelessness have found a home thanks to Project Homekey on April 19, 2021. LA County purchased the 41-room former Travel Plaza Inn in Compton for about $6.5 million late 2020 to serve as the only Project Homekey site dedicated to serving families. The families began moving into the property on March 5th, and currently operated by HOPICS. (Photo by Los Angeles County)

This started out as a tortured tee shirt I had laying around for quite some time. I cut it into thin strips and sewed the ends to a strip of extra jersey left over from the sleeves. Then I braided the strips and sewed up the other end with another sleeve. Then I put my hair up in a loose bun and tied the headband below the bun and tucked the ends under. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out but I think I will keep experimenting until I perfect it. Maybe next time I'll use a hot pink shirt!

Photometry is the science of light and candela is the unit for luminous intensity. With this in mind, the newly re-opened Candela Project Gallery is the latest bright spot in Munich’s cultural landscape.

Ah, if there had beena Project Runway back in the 1980s!!! Here I am, looking very designerish, creating a wedding dress for a friend, Julia, who wanted a simple but elegant dress. Being a costume designer, I was inspired by the 1930s, and I designed a cream satin charmeuse dress, with a bias cut skirt and top with dolman sleeves, a dip in the back and bugle & crystal bead embroidery around the neckline.

Here we are at a fitting at the dressmakers studio, owned by my friend Joy. It was called "By Hand" and specialized in custom dressmaking down in Rancho Palos Verdes

It's been a gorgeous day. At lunchtime I walked down to the waterfront and saw this sailing ship in front of the cruise ship.

Ok ..Wasn't the last ! i went into town and walked down this street art scene lane , i was taking a few photo's when Jo cycled past , he turned around on his way to work as a postie !

He came up to me and said i did this scenes , there were many of them !?! I looked bankley at him , and said what , he doesnt actually look like your usual spray artist !?

He does art , sells in local shops as well as doing his post round. They are all done legally with the permission from the council plus this scene was for the local childen walking to the local primary school... Hence Pepper Pig , those amongst us with children , may know of it , I sadly do not !! He was really proud of what he does but also very laid back. Thanks Jo ( he soad Jo - no E !) ...Jo it is !!

#307 of 365 Daily Drawings

Inspiration: Barcelona

Result: Day 1

Materials: Pentel 0.3 HB, Sakura Micron 005 & Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils in a Stillman & Birn Zeta series sketchbook

Location: apartment in Barcelona

Note: The next 23 drawings are reflections of my trip to Spain, Dublin and Scotland. It's a combination sketchbook / journal. Not all of the pages contain writing ....those are yet to be filled in because while I did make a point of doing a drawing every day I really didn't have time to also fill in the blanks with words...those are to come. I just needed to get these posted so I could get my daily drawings back on track. :)

This is one of my favorite spreads from my Sketchbook Project.

First, I freehanded the patterned background with a Sharpie. Scanned a ballpoint pen sketch, enlarged it, printed, and then glued it into the sketchbook. From there I was able to use my acrylics to work the final magic.

To see some of my work in progress and the cover to the sketchbook, check out my blog:

This is my entry in the Project Quilting Off Season Challenge - Catalog It! Your inspiration was to be from an ad.

I was inspired by clothes ads. Many times we thumb thru' catalogs and order clothes. Then they come in the mail and they don't fit us correctly. They just hang in our closets. Since this has happened to just about everyone I know, I decided we could all relate!

I was inspired to create a quilt from an unusable clothing item --- a denim shirt that didn't fit me!

I posted about each part of the process on my blog: marciascraftysewing.blogspot.com/

#1 Cut the shirt ---- Up Cycle this Denim Shirt

#2 The Process --- My Vacation Project Continues...

#3 The Binding --- A Fringie Raw Edge Binding

#4 Hot Pads --- Made from the Scraps
