Nice outside, but the next few days it will be tropical, Then the ladies stay inside, It's cooler there,
Then in the evening and night into the meadow.
It is no fun for humans and animals, that heat,
Only my Camel Josphine, enjoy the heat
and the drought is also becoming a problem again.

Le 31 août je commençais mes vacances que j'avais prises pour profiter de la saison des limicoles qui démarrait en grande cette année. J'étais en direction de Sainte-Martine avec deux amis pour voir un Bécassin roux mentionné sur eBird depuis quelques jours, une présence rare dans notre région. À notre arrivée, il s'y trouvait toujours. Peu farouche, il nous a laissé de belles occasions photographiques. Cette journée a été marquée de vives émotions. Le début des vacances, le temps ensoleillé, la joie de voir ce beau limicole (la saison des limicoles étant une de mes préférées). En fin de journée après une séance photo avec une Mouette de Bonaparte qui nous a offert un merveilleux spectacle de vol je suis malheureusement tombée dans la rivière, ma caméra heurtant de plein fouet une grosse roche émergeante et touchant l'eau. Je me suis empressée de tester la caméra qui ne répondait plus. Les genoux en sang je suis retournée vers la berge, triste. Un écho à ma quasi noyade à Pointe Yamachiche en 2019 me revint en tête. La saison des limicoles est décidément très dure sur l'équipement. Après deux journées passées au soleil et au vent ma caméra revint finalement à la vie. Je pouvais poursuivre mes vacances en toute quiétude!
On August 31st, I began my vacation, which I had taken to take advantage of the shorebird season, which was starting in style this year. I was heading to Sainte-Martine with two friends to see a Short-billed Dowitcher, which had been mentioned on eBird for a few days, a rare presence in our region. When we arrived, it was still there. Not very shy, it gave us some great photo opportunities. This day was marked by strong emotions. The start of the vacation, the sunny weather, the joy of seeing this beautiful shorebird (the wader season being one of my favorites). At the end of the day, after a photo session with a Bonaparte's Gull, which offered us a wonderful flight spectacle, I unfortunately fell into the river, my camera hitting a large emerging rock and touching the water. I rushed to test the camera, which was no longer responding. With bleeding knees, I returned to the riverside, sad. An echo of my near-drowning at Pointe Yamachiche in 2019 came back to me. The shorebird season is definitely very hard on the equipment. After two days spent in the sun and wind, my camera finally came back to life. I could continue my vacation in peace!

Une fontaine existait déjà rue des Raines, près de cet emplacement, vers la fin du XVIIIe siècle. La sculpturefontaine a vu le jour grâce à une collaboration entre le sculpteur Serge Gangolf, le Soroptimist Club de Verviers, l’asbl Verviers Fontaines 2000 et la ville de Verviers. Inaugurée en mars 2006, cette sculpture fontaine en acier inoxydable mesure 2 mètres de haut.
A fountain already existed in rue des Raines, near this location, towards the end of the 18th century. The sculpturefontaine was born thanks to a collaboration between the sculptor Serge Gangolf, the Soroptimist Club of Verviers, the non-profit organization Verviers Fontaines 2000 and the city of Verviers. Inaugurated in March 2006, this stainless steel fountain sculpture is 2 meters high.

Especially in these days when people are so busy with work, it is hard to keep up with family as well. Just remember family is the MOST IMPORTANT part of our lives. Our children need our love, care, attention, education, good health, family life. All children deserve this WITHOUT EXCEPTION!!!! NO child should be left behind!!! Keep families together, don't separate them!!! To the huge corporations please remember that love comes before huge profits, remember that people are working for you, not robots, they have a private life and need to sustain families and need the time to give attention to their families!

Profitant de ses allers-retours quotidiens sur les mêmes trains, la BB22347 est vue lors de son retour à la cité phocéenne en tête du Corail 4665 provenant de Bordeaux. Le train vient alors de passer la petite gare de Montbartier tout juste rénovée.

A European program called "REPLIC" provided financial support between 1998 and 2001 to create a project called "Artisans Angkor" to be a workplace for the young Cambodians trained by CEFP in the handicraft sector. In 2003, with support of the Agence Française de Développement (French Agency for Development), Artisans Angkor became an autonomous and semi-public Cambodian company. The profits of the company are wholly reinvested in the new training programs or construction of new workplaces in the Siem Reap province.
The company has developed its own training program (independent from the CEFP) in the craft sector, giving young Cambodians aged from 18 to 25 years free vocational training in stone or wood carving, or lacquering, or silver plating. Young people mostly from remote rural areas close to a new workshop built by Artisans Angkor can apply for this training; they have to pass some of manual and motivational tests. The compensated training period lasts from 6 to 9 months and at the end of this apprenticeship, the trainees are granted the status of "artisans". If they wish, they can then join Artisans Angkor where an employment opportunity is guaranteed to them.

Deuxième photo dans ma série maskoutaine, ce merle d'Amérique profitait de l'ombre sous un arbre en bordure de la piste cyclable. Peut-être est-ce parce que j'y porte davantage attention, mais je ne croyais pas qu'il y avait autant de merles autour de nous. Ce doit-être l'espèce d'oiseau que je vois le plus. J'aurais plutôt eu tendance à croire que les geais bleus ou les mésanges étaient les oiseaux les plus communs. En passant le titre est un jeu de mots, en anglais les merles sont des "robins".
The 2017 Weekend at the Asylum which is likely the largest and longest running Steampunk Festival in the World. It is held in the historic uphill district of Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
Since 2009, the festival (or convivial in Steampunk parlance) has been held each year in Lincoln and currently stretches over multiple venues in the historic cathedral quarter of Lincoln town, Lincoln Castle and Bishop Grosseteste University. It is run as a not-for-profit event organised by the Victorian Steampunk Society.
For four glorious days the historic streets of Lincoln are thronged with thousands of splendidly dressed steampunks enjoying a festival which strives to combine art, literature, music, fashion, comedy and simple good fun.
The event contains programmes of features and entertainment, such as the Empire Ball, Majors Review (The Major's Soiree) and the National Tea Duelling final, along with lots of live music and comedy and the largest steampunk market in the World, the Bazaar Eclectica.

Des serres sont construites pour former un jardin d’hiver (l’actuelle serre des plantes carnivores et d’Afrique du Sud) ainsi qu’une école de botanique et des zones d’expérimentation destinées à l’étude des végétaux. En 1859, le Jardin des plantes est appelé pour la première fois Jardin botanique. Il faudra attendre 1880 pour que les actuelles Grandes serres voient le jour. Aujourd’hui le Jardin botanique de Lyon reste le plus grand et le plus riche des Jardins municipaux de France. Ses collections sont comparables à celles du Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle.
