In summer dress--the plaza surrounding UCBerkeley's clock tower, Sather Tower, or "The Campanile".
This curious tree mystifies many. It is normally pruned every year or two and during winter looks quite strange with its stubby branches. But in summer, it shows what it can do.
A bit of history and info from Wikipedia:
"Platanus × acerifolia, the London plane, London planetree, or hybrid plane, is a tree in the genus Platanus. It is usually thought to be a hybrid of Platanus orientalis (oriental plane) and Platanus occidentalis (American sycamore). "
"London planes are often pruned by a technique called pollarding. A pollarded tree has a drastically different appearance than an unpruned tree, being much shorter with stunted, club-like branches. Although pollarding requires frequent maintenance (the trees must usually be repruned every year), it creates a distinctive shape that is often sought after in plazas, main streets, and other urban areas."
This is actually one of our favourite trees in Battersea Park. And believe me, this park is full of rather magic trees!

Picture taken with a Hasselblad SWC, made in 1976; Kodak Aerochrome infrarred film, expired at least from 2011; f11 at 1/125 s., with orange filter; developed with the C41 kit by Bellini.
This is the road between Sant Agustí de Lluçanés and Alpens, in central Catalonia.
Without a doubt, the most desired and valued emulsion today (and we're talking about expired film since at least 2011 or earlier) is the Kodak Aerochrome. You've probably heard of it by now if you do analog photography. It is a color infrared emulsion, theoretically to be developed as a slide, but it is often more convenient to develop it as a negative with the C41 process, since it is less demanding on a correct exposure (and it is a lot) , especially now that it's expired. Although it rated at ISO 400 for slides, better to expose for ISO 320 as a negative.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
Just living is not enough... one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.

This year the FFF+ Group have decided to have a monthly challenge called "Freestyle On The Fifth". A different theme chosen by a member of the group each month, and the image is to be posted on the 5th of the month.
This month the theme, "summertime" was chosen by Laszlo (www.flickr.com/photos/laszlo_papinot/).
This submission is a last-minute inspired saving grace. I had a lovely summer morning outing along Melbourne's Birrarung Marr with the Famous Flickr Five + Group in January (which is summertime in Australia). Melbourne's Yarra River can be a very busy thoroughfare: not least of all on a bright Saturday morning in early January, as dozens of rowers and pleasure craft take to the water.

Nobody, even less the author, had seen these pictures until now. Until I've developed them in the dark room.
In the only image of this reel in rather poor condition, and wet, you can see a village, with houses, a road with plane trees in front, and the mountain in the background. The road with trees points, in context, to a French village, and the mountain, probably around the Alps, the Pyrenees or the Massif Central. Does anyone recognize this place?
They call "found film" at those images in film or plates that are find undeveloped inside old cameras or in other places, like boxes or old houses.
This film is part of a large pack I bought in the internet from somebody in Barro, near Angouleme, France.
This one was a 127 format Kodak Verichrome Pan film, produced from 1956 to 1995; developed with HC110.

Sindaco di Roma, on. Gianni Alemanno: fax 06-679 4759; 06-6710 3590

Aggiornamento
I don't know why but this seems like an incredibly romantic image to me. I love the light the tangle, the textures, (the mystery?).. This shadow quite literally stopped me in my tracks as I was walking through Surry Hills yesterday. I have been fiddling with the editing/post work. Hoping to do it justice.

Chromolithographic patterns from L'animal dans la Décoration (1897) by Maurice Pillard Verneuil (1869–1942), French artist and decorator in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movement. Verneuil studied and developed his style from Eugène Grasset, a Franco-Swiss pioneer of Art Nouveau design. Inspired by Japanese art, nature and particularly the sea. I tend to think Squirrel shots are playing to the gallery a bit, BUT, it is rather attractive! This squirrel was taking a rest (or looking out for people with food) from one of the Plane Trees in London's Holland Park.
Platanus × acerifolia, London plane, London planetree, or hybrid plane, is a tree in the genus Platanus. It is usually thought to be a hybrid of Platanus orientalis (oriental plane) and Platanus occidentalis (American sycamore). Some authorities think that it may be a cultivar of P. orientalis.
I am now experimenting with my new Sony 35mm 1.4 lens. This lens was described by Steve Huff as “the best full frame 35mm lens I have ever used in my life”. As I have little experience with high quality glass I cannot make any claims about this lens but I do think the it will be my lens of choice going forward.
Originally when I switched from Classic DSLR to Mirrorless my intention was to reduce size and weight to a minimum because I was tired of transporting heavy equipment around the country. However when I got the Sony A7RM2 I decided to try the get best possible lenses even if they were very expensive but the down-side to this decision is that my equipment is becoming very heavy.
