Since 9/11 we don't call it "blowing up" the balloon. *wink*

The envelope has been "cold packed" with outside air, now the fan is off and the first of the hot air is filling the envelope. David (my left) helps me lift the basket.

I post this image with a heavy heart - I just read moments ago that George Myers and a 17 year old passenger died in George's Yak-52 (N2207X) today at the Moontown Alabama airport, K3M5.

George was a wonderful individual who loved aviation and brought his wholehearted enthusiastic spirit to everything he did. He will be missed.

At the plane-spotting zone, I met this young lad who comes every day to watch aircraft take off and land after school. His ambition is to one day become a pilot and is working hard at making his dream come true. Lets hope that by the time this kid finishes schooling, someone's there to support him with a scholorship..
