Vance AFB T-38s were tasked with providing a fly-over for the dedication of Stars and Strips Park at Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City. It was kind of a big deal since it was on the 4th of July and Bob Hope was in town to do the dedication. I was invited to participate since I was from Oklahoma City.

Though the museum has the real thing, it also has this splendid full cockpit simulator for the Kaman SH-2 Seapsrite helicopter. It is one of the nicest simulators I have seen.

'Jottings of a Hun' article

Featured in 'Flying' magazine, 'Jottings of a Hun' in fact refers to the life of trainee pilots, who were referred to ironically by their instructors as 'Huns'.

The Wings of Freedoom Museum has this neat Grumman F9F-2 cockpit simulator, which appears to have been taken from an acutaul retired aircraft.

This was awesome!!! Not a full motion sim, but a very early model sim for the 727's in the Eastern Airlines fleet. My thanks again to my good friend Jared for the tour!

Also, I want to thank another good friend James Willamor who was a treat to shoot with while in CLT. James, thanks for the company and the friendship!

Billy Mitchell was a professional soldier from the days of the Spanish War when he was the youngest officer in the American army. He was interested in aviation from its earliest beginnings. He was one of the first army officers to learn to fly, and at one time he got practically every aeronautical record in the world for the United States. He was instrumental in developing both military and commercial aviation in this country.

In his book “Skyways,” General Mitchell describes practical flight in simple, non-technical language. He covers all phases of aviation (as of 1930), including how the airplane is handled, the power plant, propeller and instruments, the weather as it affects flying, maps, photography and the type of men who make good aviators. He also describes flying fields and airways, aeronautical insurance and laws, the trend of aeronautical construction, and commercial and military aviation and aviation for sport, ending with a forecast of the future. The book features over seventy illustrations from photographs and drawings.

AirlineReporter - Aviation. Travel. Airlines.

The sunday Times was doing a special story on pilot training standards in India and asked me how this could be improved.

I listed out a few imperatives that would make the airline industry more safer and had no clue that the entire story would be based on my recomendations..

I hope you find this article informative about the aviation sector in India and insightful. Aviation is a sector where comments and views are always appreciated. Therefore, I look forward to hearing from you
