I shortened the hem to above the knee and took the cherry applique from a "rockabilly" sweatshop top that was falling apart. Recycle, ladies! :)

The design was developed in the winter. I admit that I do not like this season of year. The coldness is not my worst enemy. Sure, I don't like when it is minus fifteen and under, but the most tires me continuous darkness. My greatest joy of winter, however, are oranges. This winter was mentally frustrating. We had information about refugees from Syria, freezing in improvised refugee camps. Winter veiled by smog and human tragedy. On the pattern I put oranges, and the Arabic word "orange" "burtukal" looping at green-blue leafy background. Arabic is difficult, I struggled with him in college, and the results were pathetic. However, writing in this way gives a lot of fun. These smooth, flexible lines, soft curves and complementary dots offer many possibilities.
