This display, called The Light Of Christmas, was on display at the Turning Point At Calvary Church on State Road 16, about 10 miles west of St. Augustine. It was a drive-through tour which lasted maybe five minutes at the most! But it was well worth it because it was beautiful.
just around the corner from my apartment was the pompidou centre. i spent a lot of time in the museum itself and in the public spaces surrounding the museum
this is a detail shot of the fountain in the square adjacent to the pompidou. created by husband & wife team jean tinguely & niki de saint phalle.
normally the fountain & pond are full of movement with water being projected everywhere by the moving sculptures. i shot it the a couple of days before this photo was taken but on this day the waterworks were turned off due to the freezing temperatures. water was frozen all over the sculptures & in the pond itself. it made a great subject both when working and when still

i spent a bit of time this time in paris exploring the two big cemetaries - pere lachaise & cimetiere montparnasse. there were the most beautiful monuments to the deceased - including mausoleums, statues and other memorials. this one struck me ... a statue enclosed in a glass & iron conservatory-like structure that was somewhat damaged. the angel had lost an arm and much of the glass was gone ... but it was a poignant reminder of the love of parents for a small child who died over a century ago.
i finally got to the musee d'orsay after five trips to paris. it was a great museum ... made even better by the amazing spaces created inside the main hall of the former railway station. the upstairs areas were a little disappointing ... with large canvases shoved into galleries crowded with iron columns, low ceilings and small rooms
but overall it was great & am so glad that i finally got there!

The Pilgrim's Progress is a Christian allegory written by John Bunyan in 1678. This story was based on a series of dreams Bunyan had when he was jailed for preaching the gospel. This book has been translated into more than 200 languages, and has never been out of print. Christian, the central character in the story, journeys from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. Along the way he faces many dangers and obstacles. This story closely resembles many of the life experiences Christians have pre and post conversion on the road of life, the pitfalls and dangers faced in the lives of many Christian believers who are on the same journey.
This movie is loosely based on Part II of The Pilgrim’s Progress where Christian’s wife ( Christiana ) follow in the footsteps of her husband, the plot of this movie incorporates some of the events from part 1 and presents present modern day scenarios into this classic story.
