Page five. This is the beginning of the second half of Dorian Sanchez. The story is stand alone and focuses on Judas Justice, the no eyed pre-cog who in on the hunt to get Dorian Sanchez. The intention with this story was to try and achieve a cheesy and cliched film noir/detective feel to it. Ofcourse, to make it a film noir, i needed more narration, more rain and a busty broad. But eh, i tried!

Rue du Vieille du Temple, Paris, France

a lot of time over my two weeks in paris was spent inside cafes ... not only because i love the cafe culture ... time spent reading, drinking coffee and, especially, watching life go by ... but also cause it was absolutely freezing.

the 2008/2009 european winter was one of the coldest ever and was only set to get colder. i could only spend a couple of hours at the very most outside before heading into a museum or cafe or shop. usually i can walk for hours ... exertion keeping me warm enough ... but not this time. even the parisians didn't seem to be coping very well!

i spent a lot of time in paris observing people and movement for a project i´ve been working on for a while now called ´move´. it´s about people and urban spaces ... their interaction with the environment within which they live. later in my time in paris & south america i developed this idea ... but more about that later.

this was taken sitting outside the cafe les philosophes on rue vielle du temple in the marais. i was staying around the corner - where i rented an apartment for a week and a half - and sat here for ages with matthew one day just shooting hundreds of frames at slow shutter speeds. the photo was then processed on flickr ... turned in to b&w, overexposed & contrast increased. this is the general idea when processing this project ... although many look equally good in colour www.flickr.com/photos/agrippinamaior/3183232990/in/set-72... ... and in many cases actually emphasises the movement. when i get home i´ll be working on the whole lot further & and refining the selection of images.

you can see more of the project if you click on the set ´move-wip´ at the right ... although it´s very rough at the moment!

This photograph is one of a two part set. To see the two photographs together follow this link:

another image taken in the pompidou that contributes to my photography project. i loved the way this woman was just sitting still in contemplation, while everyone moved around her. it was really interesting observing people within the space. some walked quickly through the exhibits, some stopped at several that interested them, others ready every label that they could. some people were with a group of friends and were discussing the artworks and their interpretation of them, while others sat or stood quietly observing the works.

it was really interesting and i took pages & pages of notes that hopefully will coalesce into some sensible observations for this project at some point. yes i am a nerd ... i know

let me read my book, need my film, my photograph, let me listen to the song, nestle under blankets, watch the storm, stare off into space, give me enough time to escape and then i promise to come back and to smile and do the things i need to do to feel good inside.
