The purpose of this exercise was to show us the benefits of shooting in cloudy weather, particularly if photographing subjects with pronounced relief or texture. This image was taken in Cornhill, London and I think does benefit from softer lighting.
The image was shot in RAW and apart from sharpening I've done no other processing as the point of the exercise was to look at the exposure created 'in-camera'.
next stop ... paris!!! this was the first night that i arrived ... in fact i think the first photo i shot! it is so quintessentially paris for me.
this was taken just outside gare de l'est in front of our holiday inn hotel. this was on christmas eve ... taken about 35 hrs after i'd left melbourne ... 35 hours of travelling! i got to the hotel tired but excited ... though a little grumpy ... none of my luggage arrived ... having been lost at heathrow ...
i spent christmas day in the clothes i'd been wearing for days. typical that the one day all the clothes shops were closed in paris ... it would have been such a great excuse to splurge!
i stayed at this great hotel for a few days with and thanks to some old friends from brisbane ... matt, tony & lil bradshaw. we had a great time & spent christmas day together. it was like being with family, which made up for missing everyone in australia on christmas day!
Day one is terrible, I know. This is a new year, new 365 and a new camera of course. I am trying to learn how to learn how to use this camera for self portraits. After a bunch of shots I got frustrated. This is day one! Not a good start!
The setup is here!
in a street in paris
this is a sneak preview of some of the film shots i took in paris a year ago. taken on my 1965 zeiss ikon contessa. i shouldn't be uploading them as i have a bit of other photo stuff to catch up on. but i scanned them tonight and couldn't resist a small selection.
Page six. This is the beginning of the second half of Dorian Sanchez. The story is stand alone and focuses on Judas Justice, the no eyed pre-cog who in on the hunt to get Dorian Sanchez. The intention with this story was to try and achieve a cheesy and cliched film noir/detective feel to it. Ofcourse, to make it a film noir, i needed more narration, more rain and a busty broad. But eh, i tried!
