Last year Mark legally changed his middle name to "I Love SPAM" as a declaration of his love for the brand. The couple is from Liverpool, UK and made the journey to the SPAM Museum in Austin, Minnesota to say their vows. They were married by SPAMinister Jaynee Sherman, senior brand manager of Hormel Foods. Next stop is Hawaii for the 15th annual SPAM Jam Festival on April 29.

Historical marker at the Christmas Lake Roadside Parking Area (RPA) along Minnesota Highway 7 in Shorewood, Minnesota.
This marker is in better shape than some that I've seen, but it is in a neglected state at the same time. It has certainly deteriorated in the seven years since I last took pictures of it. Notice the bench on the right is now partially underground - it wasn't seven years ago.
The RPA here was built in 1941 by the National Youth Administration (NYA) and it was extensive. Parts of it were on both sides of the highway. The retaining wall along Excelsior Boulevard on the other side is still visible from here.

Plaque on the historical marker at the Christmas Lake Roadside Parking Area along Minnesota Highway 7 in Shorewood, Minnesota. This marker was built 1941 by the NYA (National Youth Administration.)
This wayside is right across the highway from Excelsior Boulevard which was part of the Yellowstone Trail.
