missing a lot of notifications ...

Cancellations due to COVID19 allowed the opportunity to reserve and stay on short notice at lodges within several National Parks. These lodges (i.e., including Yosemite and Crater Lake) are generally impossible to reserve otherwise. The parks were fairly empty. My wife were walking back with dinner to our room when I noticed this magnificent sight. The falls were the first sight as we walked in and out of our room. The view was always impressive. However, the diminishing light minutes before sunset added a touch of mystery to this natural wonder.

BTW, I wanted to take the opportunity to inform everyone that Flickr is no longer sending notifications to Yahoo mail accounts. I only receive notices regarding promotions by Flickr. As a result, it is impossible to track and reciprocate all Faves. Sorry about that and stay healthy!

Two weeks ago, I planned to capture the Carina Nebula rising over this little island. I’ve been here before, about two years back and I thought last Saturday seemed perfect to go back to this popular location—moonset was at 2:30 AM, so I arrived around 1 AM with time to set up, grab some moonlit ground shots, and get ready for a sky panorama as soon as the moon dipped below the horizon.

But, to my surprise, I got a notification during the day about a large CME and possible #aurora. With the Kp-Index at 5, I didn’t think much of it, but sure enough, faint red-pink beams started appearing in my ground shots, despite the bright moon above! I threw out my original plan and went with the flow, capturing this scene instead.

Here’s one of the shots from that unforgettable evening. A few passersby added some extra light, but I think it adds a bit of life to the moment!

Notification :

I´m not willing anymore to waste my time for SL people who use FLICKR without giving any respect. Too much time i felt like i´m in a nuthouse or kindergarten .

People posting pics in 40+ faves group but only have 3. People posting colored images in a only monochrome group, posting normal images in a only textured pics group, posting in awarding group but don´t award other, posting couple pics in a only men group and posting also in a high quality group even their image is just a snapshot. I didn´t get paid to run my groups and gosh yea i expected more respect.

I get punished for that i´m admin of SL groups and don´t get deserved faves anymore and god yea i know my work is good but when i compare to other members images getting 220 for a snapshot than something is going wrong here.

FLICKR is by far not anymore what it should supposed to be and i won´t play this game " gimme fave and i fave yours " !

For that i decided to close my sl groups (except blog and RL groups) and stop moderate other groups i´m admin of.

I won´t waste my precious time anymore on my groups where idiots just click ADD ADD ADD and don´t give a shit in which group they post and what are the requirements of a group! And when you post in 240 groups within 5 min it´s fact you don´t care of any rules and thats out of any respect to other group members and to me too, so rudely !

I don´t want your pink stars, neither i won´t give anymore, i don´t want group invites (except for blogging and RL groups ) neither i won´t invite anymore.

And to all my true FLICKR friends, i´m very sorry, please understand my decision.

I checked my youtube notifications this morning and found a comment on an old video of mine. So I gave the vid a watch for the first time in years and MANNNN did these things sound weird! Pat Yough and Brian Solomon convinced me (goooo twist my arm!) to drive over to East Salamanca from Meadville to chase whatever the hell this symbol was in October of '08. This was some of not much sun they would find that day, but very well timed nonetheless. Things would get even weirder a few miles down the way when they would pick up a GP9 at Foster Brook to go south. We ended the day at Brockway with Brian introducing me to Straub Lager. Man I miss Straub.

The Mayan Temple of the God of the Wind may have been erected as early as the 13th century AD.
