Remember the time I tried to drown myself in the rain?
Well, the drainpour was not enough - nothing ever is.
i read this somewhere. i think it was the lyrics to a song, but i'm not really sure :S
i just thought it was great so i wrote it somewhere and then did this.
I loved the rich, special feeling of the Moleskine notebooks for carrying around in your purse or pocket, but couldn't quite see dropping $6 to $10 dollars for one. Instead I bought .77 cent mini composition books and made them special...my own 'faux' Moleskine's
I made myself a notebook!
the front is kraft cardstock with some machine stitching. the back is half of a greeting/recipe card.
In the inside pages of the notebook there are illustrations and an original teenage story. White blanks give the chance of going on writing Carmilla’s story or drawing new illustrations.
I had fun playing with photoshop for this shot. I took some shots for the Super Hero monthly challenge, theme (school supplies) and thought the shot was a little boring so I started playing with it and this is what I came up with.
I made this notebook cover for a private swap. I covered it with fabric and added iron-on letters and pink fabric swirls I cut with my trusty sizzix.

Chameleon Notebook customized by Jackie Poutasse TJBookarts. Back cover with the corner pocket and business card holder. The card holder is wide enough for credit or debit cards. I stuck a couple velcro dots at the opening to keep it closed and secure. I may consider having the pocket lower to accommodate 3x5 cards.

Here are my first efforts in the world of book binding, small A7 sized notebooks, and I have to say I am pretty pleased with them as an initial attempt, which is unusual for me.
I didn’t have any book cloth and it is quite expensive, so I made my own using some old cotton twill trousers. I simply cut out a piece of fabric, laid it on a thick piece of glass, and then overlaid it with a larger piece of tracing paper coated with PVA. I then gently (don’t press too hard) rolled over it with a printing roller and allowed it to dry.

Repurposed clean, brown, paper grocery bags are used for the cover of this small, super deluxe version of my notebooks. Great for your purse, as party favors, or to use as a journal on your road trip this summer. It measures 5 inches high by 3 inches wide when closed. It contains 10 papers which create 20 pages. The papers for writing include graph paper, newsprint, yellow and white notebook paper, and practice writing paper. Each notebook is machine stitched with white thread.
The cover is rubber stamped with the words "road trip" and lined with beautiful repurposed wall paper. The writing paper pages are sandwiched with a page from a vintage cookbook and a map, creating visual interest and reflecting the road trip theme.
