Once upon a time in May 2017, the Ultra Large Container Vessel "CMA CGM Alexander von Humboldt" was leaving the port of Rotterdam (Rotterdam World Gate in Maasvlakte II). Before, the MSC Viviana leave the APM Terminal, too and heavy cargo was loaded to the Hyundai Ambition in front of us.
Then, the last container-moves are done, the lashing equipment is back on board, the gangway was removed, the pilot on board and then let's go.
After turning round with help from some tugs, we sailed death slow ahead the Yangtzekanaal towards the North Sea, passing some other (big) ships like the COSCO England.
Only a few minutes after reaching the North Sea, the Pilot was taken back and leaving our Ship.
In the evening I watched the beatiful sunset at the Mooringstation at the bow of the Containership.
An einem Tag im Mai 2017, das Grosscontainerschiff "CMA CGM Alexander von Humboldt" verliess auf ihrer Rundreise von Hamburg nach Ostasien den Hafen Maasvlakte II von Rotterdam.
Zuvor stach die ebenfalls 400m lange MSC Viviana in See. Zudem konnte man die Verladung von "Special Cargo" (Schwergutverlad) auf die 366m lange Hyundai Ambition beobachtet werden.
Als die letzten Container.Moves erledigt waren wurde aufgeräumt: Die Lasching-Boxen gingen wieder zurück auf unser Schiff, der Lotse war an Bord, der Steg wurde zurückgebaut und die Leinen nach Kommando des Captain's gelöst. Anschliessend wurde mit Hilfe mehrerer Schlepper gedreht und es ging in langsamer Fahrt durch den Yangtze Kanaal in Richtung Nordsee. Dabei passierten wir auch anderen Schiffen, wie die am Euromax-Terminal liegende 366m lange "COSCO England".
Als nach ein paar Minuten die Nordsee erreicht wurde, wurde der Lotse von unserem Schiff abgeholt und wir fuhren in den Abend mit einem wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang. Am nächsten Tag wurde dann Le Havre, Frankreich, erreicht.
