Kanjak Ashtami puja is an important ritual during the Chaitra Navratri or Vasant Navratras. It falls on the eighth day – the Ashtami day – of the nine-day Navratri festival. A young girl child (Kanjaks) is worshipped on this day in North India. In 2011, the date of Kanjak Ashtami is marked on April 11.

The Tripura Sundari temple is located in Matabari in a small village of Umrai in the lap of greenery, just 5 kilometers from Talwara village, about 14 km from Banswara in Rajasthan.

It is said that in the past there were three forts around the Tripura Sundari Temple. The goddess was named Tripura Sundari Temple due to her being located in these three towns named Shaktipuri, Shivpuri, and Vishnupuri.

The idol of the Singhwahini mother, Bhagwati Tripura Sundari, is of eight-breasted arms. This statue of five feet high has various armaments in the ashtadash arms of the mother. Replicas of the Navadurga are inscribed on the side.

Sriyantra containing Siddhi, which provides all-round perfection in the holy feet of the mother, is created. It is also said that Goddess Maa being a lion, Mayur Kamalasini, and having three forms of kumarika in the morning, Sundari i.e. youth in mid-day and adult in the evening, is called Tripura Sundari.

From Chaitra Navratra to Hindi Nav Samvatsar Chaitra Shukla Pratipada to Ramnavami, Basanti Navratri is celebrated. During this time also special prayers are offered to the nine forms of Durga. From the beginning of these Navratras, the Hindi Navaswatsar is counted. Both are full of religious events on Navratri.

Various types of dances and Durga lessons are organized, including Garba, Dandiya. Mata's worshiper has also been King Maharaja.

Kunjapuri is located at an altitude of 1645 mts. and lends a panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks to the North and Rishikesh, Haridwar and the Doon valley to the South. Travelling towards Gangotri, about 6 kms, from Narendra Nagar the road bifurcates at Hindola Khal, leading to the shrine, which is 5 kms further. Being a prime religious center, thousands of visitors come throughout the year especially during ‘Navratras’ (April and October). Grand Celebrations are held during the Dussehra festival. While walking down to Tapovan from the Temple we cross some villages and stop for a Dip in a Waterfall which we will cross by.

Barley seeds planted on the first day of the Navratras grow into shoots by the time of the ritual prayers on the eighth day. There's a tradition to offer these to the presiding deities during the ritual.

Kanjak Ashtami puja is an important ritual during the Chaitra Navratri or Vasant Navratras. It falls on the eighth day – the Ashtami day – of the nine-day Navratri festival. A young girl child (Kanjaks) is worshipped on this day in North India. In 2008, the date of Kanjak Ashtami is marked on April 12 in some regional calendars. In South India, it is marked on April 13.

On the day people invite young girls to their homes and wash their feet and tie red color thread on their wrists. A tika is applied on the girl child’s forehead and worship them as Mother Goddess. The family members take blessing from the young child by touching their feet. The children are given ‘prasad,’ gifts and some money.(Source Hindu Blog)

Navaratri represents celebration of Goddess Durga, the manifestation of Deity in form of Shakti

Basanta Navrathri, also known as Vasant Navratras, is the festival of nine days dedicated to the nine forms of Shakti (Mother Goddess) in the spring season (March–April). It is also known as Chaitra Navratra...!!

The beginning of spring and the beginning of autumn are two very important junctions of climatic and solar influence. These two periods are taken as sacred opportunities for the worship of the Divine Mother...!!!
