The aftermath of the NATO Summit which involved nine and a half thousand police from all over the UK, and which passed off without major incident. The site previously occupied by Monmouthshire County Council Headquarters, was utilised in the build up and afterwards, of the summit to store equipment and vehicles. Here is a fraction of the hired minibuses. At the back, barriers for the "ring of steel" are being stored prior to dispersion. Quite considerate of Monmouthshire Council to demolish their buildings and make the site available!

The Chicago summit was originally planned as an "implementation summit" to follow up the 2010 summit in Lisbon. However, the group is now likely to discuss the impact of recent events, such as the Arab Spring, Libyan civil war, global financial crisis, and transition for NATO forces in Afghanistan.
