Landscapes around Clophill Bedfordshire...

Into the silence of stone and moss — a hike through shadows, solitude, and timeless forest magic.

Neidpath Castle dates back to the late 1300s and has seen its fair share of turmoil and romance. Once visited by Mary, Queen of Scots, and later a retreat for the poet William Wordsworth, the castle sits just west of Peebles overlooking the River Tweed. It’s privately owned now, but still a compelling part of the Borders landscape: a fortress of both history and melancholy.

Photographed by Duncan Rawlinson in the Thousand Islands of Ontario, Canada, this scene occurs for barely an hour each year. A single red maple reaches peak color just as morning fog drifts in from the river’s head, wrapping the island in soft haze. The alignment of foliage, light, and mist is so brief and specific, it’s a moment few ever see—let alone capture.

This part of Hadrians wall is called Cuddy's Crag, and is regularly photographed by photographer's. I attempted it on a very stormy day and got completely drenched in the process. But I feel it was worth it, as I was left with a very atmospheric and moody image. Plus I was very lucky to be able to capture two walkers, walking on top of the wall at the right moment and point!

Là où tout semblait figé, la nature murmure encore.

Chaque porte garde la mémoire du vent.

Les murs se referment, mais la vie, elle, ne cesse jamais d’entrer.

Where all once stood still, nature still whispers.

Every door remembers the wind.

The walls may close, yet life always finds a way in.

Wisps of white thread through a quiet forest, clinging to the trunks and weaving into the undergrowth like a memory caught in the trees. Captured in Algonquin Park by Duncan Rawlinson, this image reflects the still, transitional energy of late autumn—when the leaves have fallen, but the hush of winter hasn't yet arrived. A subtle tension lingers, wrapped in soft light and tangled forms.

I chose to photograph this alpine lake in black and white to emphasize the dramatic interplay between light and shadow. Using a long exposure technique helped me achieve the glass-like surface of the water, creating a mirror for the rugged peaks above. My goal was to capture the timeless serenity of this mountain sanctuary, where the boundaries between sky, mountain, and water seem to dissolve into one another in a meditation on natural harmony.
