Kualoa Ranch has a way of stopping time. The ridges rise like ancient guardians, draped in green, holding stories older than memory itself. For fans of LOST, this valley carries an extra weight — it’s where the Island came alive, where mystery and survival unfolded against a backdrop so raw and powerful it felt like a character of its own. Standing here, it’s easy to understand why. The silence between the trees feels charged, the air heavy with both history and imagination. It’s not just a filming location — it’s a place that makes you believe in the Island’s magic all over again.

Cave Dale Hike Pt.3:

After heading south for a while the track took me back north past Rowter Farm and up to Windy Knoll, my next way point being the east face of Mam Tor.

Known as "Shivering Mountain" it has been in a constant state of active slip for around 4,000 years, resulting half of the hill slipping into vale leaving smaller hills and mounds at it's base and entirely destroying the A625 that used to form part of the main route from Castleton to Chapel-en-le-Frith, finally closed in 1979.

The east face makes for a dramatic sight, literally half the hill gone leaving an imposing vertical façade with strata of shale and gritstone clearly visible.

I searched around the debris field to find a way of conveying the way my eye was compulsively drawn upwards and found some not so subtle repeating triangles to emphasise the point....not that you needed the obvious commentary from me to work that one out!

Half Dome emerges from a passing winter storm in Yosemite National Park, its granite face partially obscured by swirling clouds and soft light. This image was taken in February, when the Sierra Nevada often reveals its dramatic contrasts—harsh stone softened by snow and sky.

The moody tones and layered composition are meant to evoke both reverence and stillness.

Into the silence of stone and moss — a hike through shadows, solitude, and timeless forest magic.

Under a blanket of low-hanging clouds, the three iconic bridges of the Firth of Forth emerge as enduring testaments to Scotland’s engineering legacy. To the left, the angular cantilevers of the Forth Rail Bridge dominate, a symbol of Victorian strength and precision. The Forth Road Bridge takes a quieter role in the centre, its slender lines blending subtly into the overcast sky. Meanwhile, the Queensferry Crossing tower rises faintly in the mist to the right, its modern silhouette softened by the atmospheric haze. This asymmetrical composition draws the eye across the scene, where muted tones of grey, blue, and winter green evoke a reflective calm. This is a real but refined landscape, where human ingenuity meets nature’s quiet persistence, offering a tranquil moment to pause and appreciate the interplay of history, design, and environment.

Palm trees on Driftwood Beach - Jekyll Island Georiga during a foggy day

Morning light unfolding over the heath, between blossoms, webs and juniper. A day that begins in silence, yet tells stories of detail and depth, until the path itself becomes the last word.

Morgenlicht über der Heide, zwischen Blüten, Netzen und Wacholder. Ein Tag, der in Stille beginnt und doch Geschichten von Tiefe und Detail erzählt – bis am Ende der Weg selbst das letzte Wort hat.

Clophill is a linear village with its High Street of three quarters of a mile lying between the River Flit valley to the south and the Greensand Ridge to the north. There is a secondary residential area mostly along Back Street. The village has developed by infill, but it used to be much more open with fields between the High Street and Back Street.

Clophill has a long history. There is evidence for a Roman road running east-west through the village. In the Domesday book of 1086, the village is called Clopelle, which means “tree-stump hill”. Near Top Farm at Beadlow, is the site of the Benedictine Priory of Beaulieu which was founded between 1140 and 1146 by Robert D'Albini. At Cainhoe Castle is the remains of a motte and bailey castle dating from the Norman Conquest.

Olde St Mary's Church was abandon when, St Mary's Church on the High Street, was built in a convincing Gothic style between 1848 and 1849, when the old church on the hill was too small to house the congregation.

One of a few from last year's trip to the Lake District that I hadn't processed.

Winds rising, clouds closing. Still, one boat refused to turn back.

Holga 120. Forgotten film found in a drawer, taken during the pandemic and never processed.

A second composition I shot on my hike along Stanage Edge on Tuesday.

After drinking a nice cappuccino at an unexpected restaurant (we thought we were in the middle of nowhere!) we came across this impressive coast line. We had been looking for a place to do long exposures and so we spent about 2 hours at this spot. I never tire of watching waves crash onto a rocky shore!

The Outer Hebrides, and the Isle of Harris in particular, are out of this world. It feels like you are driving on the moon. Spectacular scenery!

As the last rays of day break through the dark clouds, two figures stroll hand in hand along a serene beach path, nestled among windswept dunes and the golden glow of a setting sun. It's a moment suspended between storm and serenity
