I had surgery on my ACL two months ago. Stuck in my mother's basement for two weeks. Experiencing life without the ability to be mobile was terrible. There were limitations on my ability to do basic things, such as using the washroom. The first couple days after my surgery, I could not sit down on the toilet.

Something you barely think about every day was causing me insane pain. I was struggling with things I usually encounter on a normal day and never think about on a regular basis . My experience has brought to my attention the struggles people with disabilities have every day. I learned from my short experience that society is not designed to accommodate people with physical impairments.

During my rehabilitation, I had to go to my university campus. Around campus, you can see automatic door openers everywhere. When I needed to use those automatic door opener, I realized the poorly designed locations for those buttons. For a few weeks, I experienced life without my legs properly functioning, and it was mentally exhausting to cope with my limitations.

After this experience, I want to advocate for people with physical disabilities rights to have built to accommodated their needs. I could start by complaining to my university about the poorly designed buttons. I acknowledge I cannot change every building, but at least I can do something.

As for this image. It was photographed a month after my surgery. I just started to be able to walk with a limp. I was going to take a picture with my boyfriend which was going to be inspired by the movie Signs. But it ended up looking like a cheesy family picture. This image is an outtake. Something I did not planned on making. I don't really like this picture but it's a stamp of my experience.

The enemy dropships cloud the sky. The ground forces can only watch as the invaders annihilate their air defenses.

They stare at the conglomerate of armor and weapons filling the space above them when the sonic boom attracts their attention.

An object speed across the dropships fleet. Debris fall to the ground and then they see it.

An armored suit stands out against the sky.

Its thrusters propel it nimbly through the air and its powerful weapons tear the invaders’ forces apart with deadly elegance.

The gaze in admiration the battle unfolding before their eyes. Whoever is piloting that suit has just changed the fate of an entire planet.

The “armored suit” is Gundam Unicorn action figure from Bandai “Robot Spirits” line.

The are figure 12/13 cm high of Mechas from various Japanese series. In the case of the Gundams they are roughly in 1/144 scale.

The background image is one of my landscape photos. I post it here some time ago and I decided to combine it with the Gundam figure.

I hope you like it :)

this is the frame designed by Lu Sim, I'm going to try building a reFrame, I always wanted one, there are 2 things that I'm not sure I did ok/didn't have the piece so I had to improvise, I didn't have the knee piece so I just used an alternative, and the chest area is not clear on how to conect it to the ball joint for the torso. but I think I managed, so next step, the armor!

btw go buy his lug's mech wars book, it is amazing and offers great insights on mech building

M&EE Stores Unit (931) 018 waiting for the road to leave London Bridge terminus on its commissioning run on 30th January 1985. It was previously in passenger service designated as 2-EPB (Class 416) unit No.5788/6294 and had originally been supplied new to the Tyneside electrified system. It survived for just 5 years as a departmental unit, being withdrawn and scrapped in 1993. The unit was turned in this drab khaki/muddy brown livery!

Thanks go out to the Carillion project manager for inviting me on to site. Due to the proximity of the bridge to Exeter Airport a colleague of mine has put in allot of work ‘Safeguarding’ the entire bridge project in accordance with CAA regulations.

The bridge itself was lifted into place on Sunday 13th February after strong winds prevented the lift taking place on Saturday 12th February.

These pictures were taken on Saturday 19th February were the approach fillets were being lifted into position. The M5 was closed for the second weekend in a row and lifting work started around 2000hrs.

The construction of Redhayes Bridge, a landmark pedestrian and cycle bridge spanning the M5, is one of the first steps in the development of the Exeter Science Park infrastructure.

Evolved from a study looking at Green Infrastructure in Exeter and East Devon, the 100 metre single span arch bridge is a key development for the Exeter and East Devon New Growth Point, and marks a massive investment in the future growth of the local economy.

The pedestrian and cycle bridge is an excellent example of how green travel routes can be built into major developments and reduce the need to travel by car. The cycle link provided by the new bridge also connects into Exeter's cycling network, which stretches throughout the city and across the growth area.

Construction is now underway on the bridge, and the project is scheduled for completion in March 2011.

The Redhayes bridge project has been run by Carillion but involved many other parties and contractors; such as Exeter Airport, The Highways Agency, Devon and Cornwall Police, Parsons Brinckerhoff and Sarens.
