Thanks to TheOneVeyronian's help and feedback, I've added holes into the ballcups of the hand and the fingers. This should make the assembly of the fingers easier.

If you have already purchased a pair, or if you plan on getting one, or several (as a reminder, here's the link), please give me your feedback so I can try to improve what needs to be improved.

PS : I used the possibility to render custom Blender files offered by Mecabricks to make this render, which saved me an insane amount of time. The grainy effect was achieved by using the rubber Material in Mecabricks' template.

'Ello! Kinda a weird title, I know. xD

I'm happy with the color composition of this one, just a simple texture experiment.

The theme was "Spheres", so I initially wanted to build a "militarized" version of last year's Ginkgo. I wanted the legs to be a bit different, so I came up with an assembly to attach three legs and not four.

When I turned the whole thing upside down, I realized it looked like BB-8, so I thought I could try to do an "evil" version of BB-8 with big guns, a bit like BT-1.

I also wanted it to wield a lightsaber in one hand, but eventually scrapped the idea. However, since the model had this ridiculously big arm, I decided to give it a wheel to make it even more silly (and to prevent the hands from touching the ground).

I ultimately decided to get rid of the guns, give it two proper arms and turn the thing into a delivery robot (you would store goods in its body and it could carry other things in its hands).

My first prototype (that has initially been built with physical bricks) is visible in the background of the group shot, on the left. I felt the colours were a bit boring and since I didn't have enough dishes to build a more colourful version, I've rebuilt it on Mecabricks. That allowed me to try different colour schemes (including a direct reference to BB-8 himself) which can, I believe, all be build with physical parts.

If you want to try to build one yourself, check the 3D model here.

My entry for the DigiLUG challenge, Street Vendor.

Adventurer's car:

I don't always get the opportunity to breathe life into some of the digital builds I make on mecabricks. Mainly due to how expensive it can be to order on bricklink. But when I get a chance I like to take it.

Most of the parts I already had for this. But some dark blue elements I needed to order.

I made a few tweaks and adjustments. The old radiator/grille from the original adventurers sets sadly doesn't come in pearl gold. But I made a brick built variant instead. Along with changing the running boards and adding front mudguards. The seat is also a different design due to the 1x1 rounded brick pieces not currently available in brown.

If I could chose the life I pleased, then I would be a boatman.

Boatmobiles were typically deployed on arid, desert planets, under cloudless skies, where it never rained. However, you can never be too careful and it's always best to be prepared.

An airliner caught in a sudden thunderstorm experience emergency depressurization, but not to worry, Thor is here! (Wait, couldn't he have been the cause of the storm?) And that flight attendant is really determined to deliver that drink despite the conditions... Maybe this is a red beverage company commercial..

I'm super hyped by the upcoming Space Technic sets, so I decided to build a small model for Febrovery this year.

I wanted to use the new Reddish Orange shade, and I wanted to use the Escalator Link on the wheels, to make them look like the wheels on the Technic sets.

I also borrowed elements from this year's Space City sets (like the minifig, the crystals, the batteries, or the dark orange and dark tan rocks).

I needed to be fast with this project, so I decided ro recycle the sphere I've built last year, although not much of the original build remains here. The idea of having a spherical cockpit comes from an artwork by Richard Guérineau that I saw while reading the 5th issue of the magazine Métal Hurlant (or Heavy Metal in english).

A more or less detailed sketch was then built on stud.io, so I could know which parts I needed to order to be able to build the model before the end of the month, and here we are.

Encounter on Illum (2003 style)

Essentially one of those small, reasonably priced sets from 2003. Stocking fillers I'd call them.

This is how I imagine Lego would design the chameleon droids. Pretty static I know.

Sadly the classic Yoda head isn't on Mecabricks, but the clone wars version works well. I gave him a different coloured robe (it's like a greyish brown in the cartoon).

It's been a while since I made a Tron themed build. This one isn't inspired by any thing from the universe but rather by the Hallgrimskirkja in Iceland.

When I'm low on ideas, I always like to break out a new version of the classic MTron Beacon Tracer.

Enjoy!

Yeah, I think I'll stick with this name. What would heroes be without their villains. Put this lot together the other day, same concept as the justice league. So, onto the members of the legion itself. I went for villains that paralleled the League members as much as possible, sticking with one big villain per hero. So, the Legion of Doom is made up of (L to R):

Ma'alefa'ak - I went for the look he had in JL:Doom, with the raggedy cape and bracelets. Had to give him a Goblin head, as I couldn't find anything decent with red eyes in olive green.

The Reverse Flash - Pretty much the same as the Flash, just with a visor added on. It's kinda hard to see, but i gave him a head with sith eyes, just to make him look a bit more evil.

Cheetah - This is actually the second time I've used the luminara body and legs, just the first time I've shown it. Managed to smoosh a headdress together, kinda like the sort of thing she has in injustice 2.

Lex Luthor - Used another Anakin head for Lex, just to make him look a bit sicker. We'll go with...Kryptonite poisoning for the reason. Thought I'd give him a more slimed down version of his suit, just to make him look a bit skinnier.

The Joker - I've wanted to use the Jestro head since I first saw it, but I never got my hands on it. Works really well for an older Joker, makes him look really menacing.

Sinestro - Used this look before too, only real change was the hair, again, just to make him look a bit older.

Black Manta - Was gonna go with Ocean master, not quite sure why I didn't. anywho, this guy was a bit tricky, as mecabricks doesn't seem to have his helmet, so I had to make do with a first order engineer (?) one with a visor smooshed into it.

So, that's the Legion of Doom. added their logo in too, but it's not quite as good as the justice league one. As I said on the last one, imma keep going with these, just cos I enjoy being able to come up with minifigs and not being limited by what I have and don't have. So, as always, please lemme know what you think :D

Llwyngwril Systems fitted an 886 rover with the smallest shock absorbers that they could find in their parts catalogue...

Llwyngwril Systems were commissioned to design a safe and economic speeder. The easiest way to create fuel economy & crash safety was to limit the vehicle's top speed. Thus a speeder was born, which maxed out at 40 kph.

Despite its internal contradictions, the vehicle proved to be cheap and popular. It was ideal for popping down to the shops. Sadly, it proved to be woefully inadequate for chasing down rebel teddy bears in forests.

Centuries later, a niche collector group raced over-powered versions of these vehicles, mainly for the irony.

The year is 1947 - not so long after the disasterous World War II, not to mention the Great Depression, which also "helped" to throw the car production of the United States into long hiatus. Yet again the need in new and fresh vehicles was inevitable.

Hereby, Vapid Motor Company presents its latest line of cars - 1947 Vapid Sled-series, called that after the main model - Vapid Sledgehammer, thoroughly reconverted into Powersleigh pickup truck. This Elemental-trimmed utility vehicle with simplified rear bumper is bearing only the most crucial things which are important for the working class - no unnecessary fancy gloss and all. 140-ci V8 engine is relatively economical and allows you to drive all across Columbia without worries about embarrasingly huge gas paychecks. And, on top of that, that exact model is available now at your nearest Vapid dealership - starting just from $1399*!

*the exact price may differ with accordance to the chosen options, car condition, color scheme, upper side of a flipped coin, astrological predictions, amount of loose parts, et cetera. Actual pricelist is available at all local Vapid Motor Co. Deal & Service shops.

Last one from the Cinquecento family - a Spiaggina ("beach car") conversion designed by Carrozzeria Ghia. With help of my friend, aaref1ev, I also managed to add a pretty basic imitation of steering wheel (previously featured 500s also could be modified that way) because its absence would be notable in case of doorless car =P

I know, I know... So illegal! Wanted to make something shiny, thought this model looks much better in chrome.

Anyway, haven't seen this one made out of Lego in minifig scale. The shape seems to be really close, just the hood is somewhat higher. Hope you like!

This started (and I guess ended as well) as another interior for the large Hibernia scene I've had in the works. I was happy enough with it that I decided to try to set up a render in between.

The rendering ran as a test of a few different lights, reflections on stickered pieces, glare through transparent pieces, and blur and depth of field.

My goal was to make the scene as realistic as possible, with limited tools. At the top of my list was the light for the transparent 2x2 in the back and the light in the lower portion of the central cone. I also wanted to see if I could get satisfying lighting with lights placed only in areas they could be put IRL.

This is closer to what the original intent was for the Rabbit Rover frame, now with a large O2 tank and lots of lighting suitable for the depths.

Happy World Chocolate Day Everyone!

Mark Wright has been full of mojo lately building huge fleets of Futuron style craft from age-specific parts. One of them, the CS Utility Shuttle really caught my eye with its combo of cool engines and ATV body.

I couldn't resist having a go at a redux build with more modern parts (and a custom screen) and with his permission here's the result.

Thanks Mark!

This is the 6th entry in my monthly series of speeders built using retired (legacy) Lego colors. This model uses Dove Blue, Dark Grey, & Sand Blue Metallic.
