Another great set of Mini Katanas by Shipmaster. Very interesting handle design and I like the shape.
I attempted to make the scene a little more interesting with the forge backdrop which reflects in the model. I also had a fire image in the foreground, but I don't think it added much to the image.
My latest project «All New AAL» is fully completed and now you have an opportunity to purchase a 70-pages digital instruction (*.pdf).
The model is made out of 1245 parts and if you have LEGO set 75103 you can use 275 parts from it. The price is 5€. Payment by PayPal only.
To do a payment you can DM me here or or just click on www.paypal.me/brickstarter
Thank you for the support!
© 2016 – Bricks Addiction
A sneak peek of a building I'm working on. Computer rendering but only existing bricks/colors were used.
A small scene to let me practice rendering with Blender 2.8 :)
I used the Mecabricks advanced addon, then composited the image in Blender. Finally, I exported to GIMP 2.10 for some final tweaks.
This is merely an attempt to improve my rendering skill, so I can take my builds to the next level with at least sub-par presentation ;P
Thanks for Looking!
So, betcha didn't think I'd come back to this, huh. Ngl, I didn't think I would either, but, well, here we are. Switched over to mecabricks for these, just cos I seem to have the teensiest bit of an addiction to it. So, the Clone war continues, now entering its fifth year. The Galaxy is more divided than ever, and this year is a turning point. The Republic is changing, becoming more like an Empire. With each passing day, the Supreme Chancellor becomes more powerful, tightening his grasp on the galaxy. So, let's delve into the forces at play (L to R):
Senate guards - They don't really impact the story too much, just needed something to edge the main figs. Really happy with how they came out, really like the helmets. They do have faces, so I imagine they would play a role, if only minor. They serve the Supreme Chancellor as body guards, though they are slowly being phased out, replaced by new guards with crimson robes.
Aayla Secura - Won't lie, she doesn't really need to be here. She remained with the jedi faction still loyal to the Republic, leading its troops into battle. Maybe she felt obligated due to her loyalty to her troops, or perhaps her respect for Master Skywalker, who also remained.
The first Sister - A dark and mysterious new player in the war, the first sister moves covertly, like a shadow in the night. Her identity is a mystery, though there are rumours. Most likely, she is a fallen jedi, though which one is disputed. On an unrelated note, Barriss Offee's cell is empty, the former Jedi knight transfered to a more secure prison, though which one is unknown.
Anakin Skywalker - An attempted assassination of the Supreme chancellor by the rebellion (I'll come back to this) left Skywalker grievously wounded. Luckily, thanks to cutting edge Republic medicine and technology, he is rebuilt, stronger than ever, even if it came at a price. with burns covering almost his entire body, he is almost permanently encased in a dark suit, reflecting his inner self more and more. He's angrier too, often brutal in battle. there are rumours among the clones that his eyes turn yellow in battle, and a shadow seems to envelope him as he fights. The war has changed Skywalker, most likely for the worse.
Supreme Chancellor Palpatine -
Though the attempt on his life has left him scarred, his loyalty to the Republic is unwavering. Public support only rose after he survived his brush with death, and he continues to be a very popular leader. He holds all the strings, and has no intention of letting them go, as long as he draws breath.
Admiral Thrawn - After his encounter with Skywalker on Batuu, Thrawn decided to accompany him back to coruscant, even if only to assess the state of the Republic for potential alliance with the Chiss ascendancy. Although he found it in an unacceptable state of corruption and greed, he saw potential. Its military showed promise, the clone army was enticing to say the least. He was entered into the Republic naval academy, and fast tracked to admiralty in just three years. Given his own fleet and flagship, The Chimaera, Thrawn is determined to reforge the Republic Navy, becoming its leader. Some say he even has machinations on the seat of Supreme Chancellor. Though these are just rumours, Palpatine has still taken precautions.
Captain [Blank] - You'd think I'd have come up with a decent name by now, huh. Anywho, this is the same guy from Year four, just with a slightly new look and rank. Not an admiral anymore, just a captain. Still blind though, and with a beard this time.
Commander Cody - Still fiercely loyal to the Republic, Cody remains in charge of the 212th attack battalion, leading them into battle, or commanding them from afar. He's getting older though, and is soon to be commanded, returned to Kamino to train the next generation of clones. Quick not about the armour, Mecabricks doesn't have stormtrooper helmets (weird right), so any PhIII's in the future will most likely be helmetless, unless absolutely necessary.
Commander Appo - After Rex's desertion, Appo took command of the 501st, continuing to fight alongside General Skywalker.
So, that's year five done and dusted. I'll be doing this for all the factions, and maybe one more depending on if I can make it work. As always, please lemme know what you think, and if you'd like to see more. Oh, and also if you can think of any other Jedi that would have remained loyal to the Republic, as I honestly couldn't think of any :D

When little Moons do go awry,
And take their leave from up on high,
This rugged truck is sent to try,
To find them where they sadly lie...
And put them right back in the sky!

Little moons. The size of a boulder;
The gravitational mass of a large mountain.
Requires some heavy equipment.

This is the only 'pre-packed' rover, mostly done before christmas, which is probably why it's not like my more crazed, fever dream efforts.

“The Ark” project was the first attempt of mass colonization of planets outside Solar system. But it was just partly successful. Only third parts of all ships established proper colonies. Some gossips say the real purpose of project was just to get rid of excess population. A few years after the last launch of Ark revolution in hyperspace travelling happened. New hyperdrives were more powerful, faster, reliable, cheaper. So it was possible to establish regular supply lines between new colonies. So there was no need in looking for an ideal world. Colony can be founded everywhere near the source of some valuable resource.
New colonization project was called “Legacy”. It was based on fleets of smaller ships instead of one huge ship as before. “Patriarch” spacecraft was designed to carry fast deployable modules of a new colony. Habitats, industrial facilities, power plants. Everything that is needed to start building. All modules can function on the surface of planet and in space. At first group of engineers constructs small outpost on the planet, builds foundations for landing modules, and after that they are dropped off the orbit. They have their own engines for soft precise landing. Ship’s reactor can also be used as a power plant of settlement. In this case ship stays in orbit and will be deconstructed in future.
Last, but not the least. Big problem of the Ark was in its colonists. It’s very hard to keep billions of people alive in cryosells. Patriarchs have incubation facilities onboard and huge stock of genetic material. The idea is to grow most of population of a new colony artificially. DNA can be modified to provide better adaptability in case of hazardous environment. Moreover, by default all defects, random mutations and genetic illnesses were deleted from genetic material. Should I say it had serious consequences in future?
Designed alongside the Ni-24, the Ni-65 was envisioned as a complimentary heavy fighter/attacker to it's little brother. The X-Wing is able to keep pace with other fighters in the Cervantino commonwealth thanks to a large engine and more turbines pumping air into it than strictly responsible.
The Ni-65 builds on the successful heritage of the Caballero with a dedicated navigator/spotter for long range missions, heavy-hitting armament, and a wing planform that's been banned in 12 colonies.
Is the Star Wars shitpost stronger? No no no. Quicker, easier, more seductive

is a reimagining of the classic 6276 Eldorado Fortress. I had to rush to finish it, thus some aspects are not as well worked out as I'd like them to be. I may edit it and publish some new images sometime in the future.
IT SPINS POGGERS
A frame like this offers some unique animation opportunities (walk/run/boost/dodge/repair/firing/etc), but those are outside the scope of allotted energy for this endeavor. Something to keep in mind for the future. Onwards to the next.
Animated in Blender 2.9 with the Mecabricks Advanced addon.

So as promised, I have built a Hyde figure to go with my League. The design is based on my Mecabricks version, but draws heavy inspiration from Doctor Allo's design. I had to use reddish brown elements due to Lego not having all the right parts in dark tan.
Mina has been slightly tweaked, I've given her a custom dark blue pauldron piece to give a bit more shaping to the torso, and a custom waist cape piece just to give a bit more shaping and flow to the dress.
Quartermain has a different head, and I changed Nemo's outfit to his dark green uniform.

This is the 5th entry in my monthly series of speeders built using retired (legacy) Lego colors. This model uses Medium Green, Dark Grey, Light Grey, & Transparent Fluorescent Yellow.

In the busy everyday life of a simple ruler, being taken from place to place is a mere inconvenience. But who supplies the carriages to the rich and powerful? Meet Chad, the best Used Cart Salesmen in the area. No King Rating required, and all offers are considered!
So here it is, my first entry into the CCCXVI. I decided to start simple, just to get a good render setup going and figure out the contest workings. But I plan to enter as many categories as I have the time for :)
I want to give Isaac Snyder props for the tree design. I don't know if it was an OG design, but I first saw it in his builds :)

PATROLLING THE MOJAVE ALMOST MAKES YOU WISH FOR A NUCLEAR WINTER
...ok, that's not so typical for me. Tried to do something in the LEGO BrickHeadz sets style. And yes - I chose an iconic character from Fallout: New Vegas. Just because I like these red glasses in his helmet =D
Veteran Rangers are an elite sect of New California Republic Rangers who have served long enough and with such distinction that they have earned the privilege of wearing the distinctive NCR Ranger combat armor, considered to be one of the most valuable and awe-inspiring items in the entire New California Republic. The inscription on their signature Ranger Sequoia pistols indicates that the Veteran Rangers carrying them have served in the Rangers for 20 years or more.
Just a quick unmodified render with Mecabricks basic script, All I added was a ground plane and a world image for a light source. Clearly Its missing the pieces for the rear vision mirrors But I am yet to locate them in Mecabricks if at all it has them, I may need to model them myself.
Some interesting things going on here and a few things I am not fond of BUT this is a lot easier then what I did with the Corvette remodeling pretty much the whole thing. This render however did take longer to render than a comparable resolution image with my settings with the same amount of samples. I might buy the advanced script to compare and maybe learn something
After a month and a half of work, i finally finished it. Spidey_Comic15 was a huge help with getting the renders done, go check him and his renders out on Mecabricks
There will be repercussions if you post this build as your own. Don't.

3D view of Barsuk on Mecabricks: mecabricks.com/en/models/xov7qKG320D
"Barsuk" (from Russian "барсук" - "badger") is the civilian version of a SUV designed for the Soviet military in the late 60's, produced by ZiP ("ЗиП" / "Завод имени Петрова" - Petrov Plant).
Even though its design was deemed obsolete from the start of production, robust and offroad-ready Barsuk was everything a countryside denizen could dream of - especially if you don't tell 'em what was available on the other side of a curtain!
Built by the request of my friend @kiren_sun: flickr.com/photos/sovetskiy_medved/.
It was meant to be a UAZ-469 lookalike with some artistic liberties, but Kiren took it even further with adaptation of that model. I believe you'll be able to see the result some time later =)
Since I was already downsizing on the scale of my models, I decided to work on the M1070 and M1000 next.
M1070A1 is now 9 studs wide, while the trailer is now 12 studs wide to accommodate my M1 Abrams and soon, any other vehicles in my inventory. My M1 Abrams has also been updated but I'll post its own photos once significantly more upgrades has been applied.
Compared to the previous model, I find this a more better representation of the actual vehicle.
Towering over the grid, a monument to the achievements of Clu, stands the Cathedral of the Grid.
It's been a while since I made a Tron themed build. This one isn't inspired by any thing from the universe but rather by the Hallgrimskirkja in Iceland.

Night time means race time in the city, and this bike, known as "Fuchsyntha" has been on the cops' "Unable to Catch" list for quite a while.
This is the third installment in my monthly series of Legacy Color Speeders, as this build uses Bright Violet, Dark Grey, and Dark Royal Blue. (The background is made of current colors for aesthetic reasons).

Purpletron is my favorite series that never existed. I've tried to make Purpletron things like three times before this, but finally hit a fan I liked the right level of stupid to truck through it.
Wrestling the stud.io parts that mecabricks doesn't have yet into blender was an adventure and a half, so if some things are out of alignment you didn't see anything.
Annunziato Balena Quadruplicare is a fictional Italian GT car that was in production since 1966 till 1971. Introduced in 1964 as a concept, Balenacaught attention for the wealthy public, so eventually it was decided to set up a limited production of these cars. In total 137 units were built. The vehicle was equipped with a four-liter V12 with 350 hp. The color scheme of a car was an especially interesting feature: all Balenas were invariably painted in silver metallic, and the client could only choose the color of the front fenders and the trunk lid. The interior was also of a color the client picked for the front fenders and trunk lid.
The car got its name (balena - whale from Italian) because of its large dimensions, body shapes and a distinctive radiator grill that resembles a whalebone.
I've been testing rendering with Mecabricks. This is the largest render that is available for free. I also messed with the colors. I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure this build is impossible in real life without some spray paint.
At one time the fastest car in the world, Bugatti shipped out a new standard. Also, it's frickin hard to build in Lego :P
This is based off of Ron_Dayes Bugatti, which he said he thought of as a Chiron. I thought using his base, I could make a convincing Veyron to join the collection.
I started with the front, changing out piece after piece. About half-way through, I worked on the back, giving it that iconic engine cover and round taillights. Finally, I masked out an IRL Veyron grill and put it into the .dae file.
If you like this, or cars in general, you should check out Ron's page. He spent years working on this scale, and has some really cool Mocs...

Kinda ran out of full groups I could do, so I've resorted to random groups of random minifigs. So in this one we have:
Wolverine - Came across this combo while doing another thing, it's actually why I decided to start doing this kinda fig barf.
Hera Syndulla - I've had this one knocking about for a while, just never got to rendering it.
Rick Grimes - Again, had him around for a while, but I managed to get him in his iconic pose for this pic.
Suicide Squad Harley Quinn - Not much to say about her, just a combo of Harley Quinn parts.
The 11th Doctor (Time of the Doctor) - Though this one has been done in a set, I thought I'd take a whirl at a more accurate version.
Green Lantern (Abin Sur) - Mecabricks finally got around to adding more of the DC CMF pieces, this one works quite well for Abin Sur. I imagine this look is from when he was in his prime.
And that's the lot. As always, please lemme know what you think and if it's worth me doing anymore in the future :D
Originally constructed from the hull of a salvaged CNC dreadnought, the Nurikabe class serves as the FNC's most recent force projection asset. Initially dismissed by many CNC officials as nothing more than a mere hackjob assemblage of parts, the vessel has nevertheless proven itself a reliable resource in numerous skirmishes across contested territories.
Though lacking the sheer combat presence afforded by true supercapital and ubercapital starships, the Nurikabe's extensive hangar and personnel bays allow it to essentially serve as a mobile base of operations within foreign or hostile space.
Didn't finish in time for SHIPtember, but pushed through to the end nonetheless. Plenty of room for improvement, but that's always true - eventually, you just have to say "good enough" and hit send.

Disputes about latest Gorillaz album, "Humanz", can be so long, but I think no one will argue with the point that appearance of the main characters, which shown first in the "Saturnz Barz (Spirit House)" videoclip, is truly unique and interesting to build in LEGO.
You can read more about 2-D here, because I just can't retell story of this guy in a few words =D
