Lord Vader:
Been meaning to try this out ever since mecabricks added the new Vader prints.
I made some edits to the original torso print in Photoshop.
An alternate version of Darth Vader had he not sustained his injuries on Mustafar. Sporting new armour suited for combat and (with helmet) adaptability in the vacuum of space and remote control of his sith infiltrator. Vader leads the newly formed Galactic Empire on the hunt for the last of the jedi and to crush any attempt of resistance.
Those of a certain age will get the reference I'm sure.

Used some nice greebly and Cockpitty 'Constraction' parts in this one, which has been fun. Experimenting with Scale, brick weathering and Environments. Loving it.

Hey guys!
Lots of amazing stuff happened this year and I'm sure 2019 won't disappoint either. It's about time to say goodbye to 2018 though, and I thought it might be a good idea to do this with something... old.
This classic-styled cruiser is a direct descendant of this yellow car of mine. The revamp comes in two variants, features mad techniques aplenty and even includes mock-up steering. Extremely proud of this bugger!
Here's to a good 2019, guys! Keep building!!
The Arkanin, formally united under the Othaen Federation, were still recovering from serious culture-shock when the first barbarian attacks began. Only introduced and accepted into the Coalition a few decades prior, they were generally eager to prove their worth to Tarsis and leaped at the opportunity when the first signs of the Urthmen trickled into their occupied space.
As the war began, Arkanin soldiers found themselves equipped with a mish-mash of domestic and alien equipment, only some of which happened to be easily compatible with their bulky frames. To their credit they adapted quite remarkably. In this image, a domestic gas gun is tested with a human-produced remote targeting device.
Fluff aside, the idea for the Arkanin has been around for.... some time. I've referenced them a few times in different builds but never actually built one until now. The best part is, I'm not actually the first to try.
I wasn't a fan of the Mando N-1 set when it was revealed, so I decided to do my own... but since there are approximately 3.2 million custom Mando N-1's at this point, I created the classic version!
After a month and a half of work, i finally finished it. Spidey_Comic15 was a huge help with getting the renders done, go check him and his renders out on Mecabricks
I took a break from my large scene to smash together this behemoth. I wanted a machine that dwarfed the minifigures beside it but was also operational and could be built with real bricks. The most basic chasis is based on the Land Bounty Ninjago set -- the steering is actually a straigh rip. All in all, this was an immensly satisfying vehicle to build, and an even more satisfying vehicle to animate.
I used Mecabricks' new animation system to rig the main features. This made it much easier to position for rendering and allowed me to make a full animation showcase. You can find the model and animation on Mecabricks. Feel free to look through the node system I used but be warned: There is no IK system so far so the 4-bar linkage for the extension arms is a super messy pseudo-analytical jumble. If you do this yourself, pay special attention to when the rotation coordinate system flips.
And of course, while I was building this, I came up with an idea for another vehicle that would make this look like a hotwheels car...
I've revised my memories camera model, now featuring a wider variety of subjects than the family centric model from the original!

James Bond's ride in The Living Daylights (1987).
You can see it in action here.
Actually, this MOC has nothing to do with the announcement of a partnership between Lego and Aston Martin and the James Bond Franchise. This is a mere coincidence. In fact, I've built this MOC for a contest (or rather a challonj') on a french forum back in May.
The MOC has initially been built on Mecabricks, and after the announcement of the results, I made the model public. I then noticed that I could quite easily get the parts to build it, so I decided to order them so I could have a physical copy of the MOC.
While building it, I made some changes to the Mecabricks file, updating it so it would be accurate to the physical build, and grouping the sub-assemblies to make the build easier.
'Matoro's Sacrifice'
A re-render and edit of an old Mecabricks render I did a while back. Based on the iconic Bionicle moment where Matoro uses the Kanohi Ignika and sacrifices his life to save Mata Nui...
I decided to upload this mix of my old works just because there aren't so much pictures from me these days =D Actually I think that the front part from 180SX barely fits with S13 Silvia rear bodywork and don't makes sense at all, but, anyway, this car exists in real life and even more "official" than the well-known Sileighty, so it's meant to be done.
*Dispatch, we have a possible 10-43 in Harada Square*
*Confirmed. Sending a Cleanup Crew now*
I did not at all expect to get the effect I wanted in the 4th Neon test. I was hoping to emulate the Neo-Japan concept art of Johnson Ting. At the same time, I was trying to figure out a technique for using opaque, printed/stickered parts for neon and LED signs. Moreover, I needed to be able to render the scene all in one go. I figured the next step up from the simple scenes of the previous two tests was to dive into a full scene (I am not patient). The first throw-away render turned out so well that I just threw everything I could into this one.
Unfotunately, this render relied heavily on the DOF to blur the signs and add their glow. Without it, the sign details are just a bit too sharp. This isn't normally bad, but for the large scene I'm working on, I'd prefer not to use a DOF.
Spaceman Caractacus Potts decided that as all of his friends could fly about the Moon, "Why shouldn't he?". He quickly adding wings and empennage to his old 886 Space Buggy. Using the rim of a large crater as a ski-jump, he launched himself aloft. Sadly, there was no atmosphere for his wings to use to generate lift and he rapidly plummeted to the ground.
Potts was "talent spotted" by the notorious Vehicle Design Department of Llwyngwril Systems and went on to become one of their leading designers.

Was meant to be a big 'n bulky SUV first, then I decided to make it a full-fledged camper - actually finalized as the pick-up truck with the rather low camper shell, so... effectively a SUV/SUT anyway. Ah, well.
How do evil tyrants keep the ceilings of their secret lairs cobweb free? how do you dust the inside of a hollowed out volcano? The answer is this very useful machine from Llwyngwril systems. Stable yet manoeuvrable, a highly practical machine.
Recently, The Lego Group released a new car in the Creator Expert series. It turned out to be the Fiat 500F. And before that, the Fiat 500F by saabfan2013 and zanna achieved 10,000 votes on Lego Ideas, but was not released, although in my opinion it looks much better than the final Creator Expert set. The situation turned out to be strange and offensive for the original authors. I want to launch a flash mob, and if you also like Fiat from saabfan and zanna, you can support it. Build your own red Fiat and publish it with the hashtag #WePreferRed500, we can draw attention to the problem and maybe even get an official answer.

Designed in LDD, exported to Mecabricks, and rendered with Mental Ray using a HDRI image. Arch and Design materials were used with reflections set to quick interpolate for quicker rendered reflections that both fade and blur with distance from source. The bevel render effect function was used for micro bevels. Render elements were enabled and each 16 bit pass, diffuse, specular, reflections, ambient occlusion, and others were composited in Photoshop.
Hey Mike, can you give it a checkup?
Oh, hello Geoffrey, long time no see. How long has it been?
Three years since I took it out in the sun, six years since I've actually driven it.
Bah, that's as good as new. I'll give it an oil change and a bash with the hammer, and it should be good to go!

Over on my old channel someone (or rather his son) liked the old Jeep from 2016 so much that he asked for instructions.
Uhm, yes, instructions. I had tried to make them in LDD, which missed contemporary parts I had used in that build. Also tried my hand on Mecabricks, but they lacked the old wheels I had been using. So now, only six years later, I have instructions (or rather a digital model) which I wanted to have back then.
Oh, and if you're wondering about good light while doing indoor photography: I've bought a new lamp on Monday, that helps a lot.
Toy Project Day 2667
Something simple to get the gears spinning again. Need to break away from this design pattern eventually.
I create the Space transporter with Mecabricks and rendert the images with "Cinema4D".

Inspired by a canal house in Amsterdam from 1627 I built this microscale house with a crow-stepped gable. The base of the house is 10x11 studs and 875 bricks were used. Computer rendering but only existing bricks/colors were used.
No new figure prints here. Instead, I wanted to try adding stickers to tiles and slopes. This required more precise sizing and extra images to get the proper positioning but it was still easier than I had expected it would be. The hard part was designing the "TAXI" sign. I still am not completely satisfied with the result. The colored shapes to the right of each sign are supposed to indicate available seats with red and green "lights".
The warning signs above each door are also custom stickers. I basically mixed&matched various ExoForce designs. These, I AM happy with.
As for the auto-taxis, yellow just looked ugly so I went with grey. Maybe I should have mixed in some old grey...

...This tank actually was never built (only designed in sketch and blueprints), so render is displaying a fictional situation. Nevertheless, environment is based on a hangars of "real" Kubinka Tank Museum, which located in Russia.
