Local politicians showed their support for sustainable transport by ‘saddling up’ for an MLA bike ride at Stormont as part of ‘Two Wheels: Two Weeks’ of cycling celebrations running from 18th to 26th June.

The ‘Two Wheels: Two Weeks’ initiative is developed and promoted by DRD Travelwise NI and is celebrated as part of Bike Week which takes place across the UK and Ireland. ‘Two Wheels: Two Weeks’ is designed to encourage the public to get on their bikes to enjoy the numerous health, financial and environmental benefits associated with cycling.

Now a firm fixture on the Bike Week calendar, the MLA bike ride saw assembly members get on their bikes to show their support for the initiative and to encourage more people to get out of their cars and into the saddle.
