Lunar Eclipse on December 21, 2011 seen from the northeast US. Makes me wish I owned a 600mm. Not a great photo, but I got something.
At totality. Unfortunately we had a layer of high clouds, giving us a thin filter of haze through which to view (and photograph) the event which grew worse as the evening progressed. This was the best I could do.

...to capture a natural phenomenon. I mounted my underused teleconverter on my Coolpix 995 and then used tripod. It was a good exercise to find out the status of my sensor: dirty!
This is the best of my 'reddish' ones - it's not terribly sharp and it took me some time to work out why - the tripod was on a wobbly paving slab so every time I moved so did the camera. Perhaps that qualifies as this month's theme - Technology failure!!?? Still, disappointed to see only one other member posting a moon - perhaps you all stayed inside in the warm!
