Lunar Eclipse 2014-04-15 image 6, a final, wide-shot to show moon against suburban foreground. Yeah, I think I was the only one in the neighborhood up at that hour, however I did hear noises coming from a neighbor's house now and then.
Taken with a Nikon D7000 and Nikon 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Exposure: 20mm, 2s @ f/4, ISO 800. White balance set to "tungsten" for most natural lighting. I did take a second pic @ 4s exposure which had MUCH better colors, however that image had too many other defects so I had to use this one and digitally brighten it up a bit in post.
Taken at 03:01 AM CDT, 2014-04-15.
I almost caught the total lunar eclipse but I was just too tired to stay up any longer.
Casi logré capturar el eclipse lunar total pero estaba demasiado cansado para quederme despierto más.
So, I caught the tail end of this lunar eclipse. You can barely see the Earth's shadow on the left of the moon.
Simulation of the lunar eclipse visible on the 16th of August, 2008. It will be visible from the UK/Africa/Asia side of the planet, and not from North or Central America.
Simulation produced using the free astronomical simulation software, Celestia.
