A part of a colourful development by Italian architect, Renzo Piano. Central St Giles, London - August 2014
(Also bears a passing resemblance to train tracks, or a piano?)
I work in the building right next to this so I see it every day. For this reason i don't really tend to take any photos of it as I'm so used to it. But there you go, they say familiarity breeds contempt...

Architecture in London: Walkie-Talkie.
The skies were moody. The hail came down. Then the sun came out. Welcome to British weather.
Thanks for all views, comments and favs. They are always much appreciated.

Another photo of the brutalist car park in Welbeck Street, Central London behind Debenham's in Oxford Street, built in 1970.
Photo taken in heavy rain.
Update April 2019: This building is, sadly, currently in the process of being demolished.

Like many of the great (hidden) London landmarks, this came to my attention via the photostream of the awesome Fred Adams.
He did an excellent LE version of this. I hope he'll forgive me following so closely in his footsteps.
My attempt, although similar in composition, is handheld and hopefully sufficiently different in processing style that I can avoid accusations of outright plagiarism :)
Cheers Fred!
What could be a street camera on Oxford Street, Central London, adjacent to a new building in Ramillies Place. For my earlier photo of the same building, press here.
Balfron Tower in London's East End. Completed in 1967 and about to be refurbished. Architect: Erno Goldfinger. My over processed photo brings out the texture, the austerity and, maybe, the beauty of thus residential building - September 2014.
Summer Lates at St Paul's Cathedral, London.
An opportunity to take my camera gear in for an evening of photography in Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece.

I took the opportunity to go out and play with my camera while my wife was doing the 10k Shine Walk for Cancer Research. Had to take the iconic Millennium Bridge with St.Pauls in the background didn't I, why wouldn't you.
Another photo of the brutalist carpark in Central London. It was completed in the early 1970's. This photo was taken by iPhone.

1926 Modernism (some might say Art Deco) building now a Co-Work Space and Offices but originally the Corporate H.Q. for "Austin Reed" label for Men's Suits and Apparel; listed as a Grade 2 Building.
City workers come out to play on a Thursday night. A tricky shot - hand held with a crazy ISO and heavy de-noising, so it doesn't bear close inspection. But still - one of the City's most iconic viewpoints IMHO.
One of Four. Lockdown editing of a photo by me from 2017.
These are four versions of the same facade photo.
The building is the US Embassy in Nine Elms, London. Architects: Kieran Timberlake.

Looking up through the stunning glass roof of Leadenhall Market, a Victorian gem in the heart of the City of London. The ornate architecture, golden details, sculpted columns, and filtered natural light create a timeless atmosphere. This historic spot, famously featured in the Harry Potter films, is a visual delight for fans of urban and architectural photography.

Another something from the archives. One of my early outings with the OMD-EM5.
Somewhere near the London skyscraper dubbed the Walkie-Talkie. Made infamous last summer because it was concentrating sun rays onto cars below and melting bits of them. It was apparently like starting a fire with a parabolic mirror.
You'll have to forgive the processing blunder which, whilst not immediately obvious, annoys me. But as I downloaded prior to exercising more diligence, I am now loath to remove and repost. Bah!

A very popular view point, and my first try shooting from this angle. The weather is fine with a little bit of cloud, nothing too dramatic, I will try better next time.
Note: Elizabeth Tower known as Big Ben is a clock tower, renamed after Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II in 2012
I did a shoot at Heal's of London and created a monster (see comments section).
I reprised the idea with this shot of Dean's Staircase at St Paul's Cathedral. The cathedral is currently running their 'Summer Lates' programme in which photography is actively encouraged.
Well worth a visit!

The corner balconies of new apartments near to the City of London bring to mind the jaws of an ancient, long extinct, creature.
Only 60 years ago this place was a hive of activity which resounded with the shouts of stevedores and the noise of machinery. The Tower Bridge was a dirt-grey and the skyscrapers were not there. The river was filled with ships and the air perforated with their horns and the aroma of cargo that they brought from far away...Today here only silence reigns...

The brutalist Welbeck Street Car Park in Central London. Built in the early 1970's.
Note dated 7 March 2017. This building is sadly due to close on 13 March 2017. It's fate is unknown. Many people, including me, are hoping that it will not be demolished.
Update April 2019: This building is, sadly, currently in the process of being demolished.
