Essential Logic was a UK post-punk band formed by saxophonist Lora Logic after leaving X-Ray Spex.
The band initially consisted of Lora Logic on saxophone and vocals, Philip Legg on guitar and vocals, William Bennett (later of Whitehouse) on guitar, Mark Turner on bass guitar, Rich Tea on drums, and Dave Wright on saxophone. Turner was later replaced by Jon Oliver on bass.
They formed in 1978 with Logic fresh out of art school. Their first 7" was released on their own record label; Cells. They released a self-titled EP on Virgin Records in 1979, before signing to Rough Trade. Their debut album, Beat Rhythm News - Waddle Ya Pay? was released in 1979, followed by several 7"s before the band split in 1980. In 1980-81 Logic also performed as a member of Red Crayola, as well as playing on recordings by The Raincoats, and The Swell Maps.
Lora Logic released a solo LP, Pedigree Charm, in 1982 on the Rough Trade label. Soon afterwards she gave up recording and performing when she turned to the Hare Krishna religion, though she did record and perform under the X-Ray Spex name again when they reformed in 1995. She resumed with Essential Logic in 2001, and released a four-track EP of new material. The new line-up included ex-members of the ska group Bad Manners and guitarist Gary Valentine of Blondie. A year later, a further four tracks from a recording session in 1998 were made available from the website, Vitaminic.
In 2003, an anthology of Essential Logic recordings was issued, entitled Fanfare in the Garden, on the Kill Rock Stars record label.

The author believes that it would be very difficult to find a comparable book of such a practical nature on logic. He has been a keen student and observer of logic and logical reasoning for a long time. He has encountered much problems and frustration with the use of logic in relation to his interaction and dealings with his fellow-beings. The ideas in the book have been culled from his own personal experiences, his own research and study, and considerable amount of time devoted to thinking about logic and logical reasoning.
The ideas in the book represent some of the most important and deepest thoughts of the author and are expected to make the reader realize things he has not known before. It should be a mind-expanding adventure for him.
The most important thing is that the book offers some tip on how to improve one's powers of logical reasoning. It is a treatise on logic and logical reasoning. It provides the answers to such important questions as: What is logic? What is the proper way of logical reasoning? How could harmony and peace in society be achieved through the proper utilization of logic?

This is a 4-way XOR gate I came up with for a quiz level in LBP. It takes four input switches (shown along the bottom of the diagram) and activates a magnetic key (marked with a dotted arrow) when only one of these switches is pressed. If more than one switch is depressed, it deactivates. This is necessary if you have posed a question and you only want the player to be able to select one answer. The gate uses 21 blocks, 4 triangles, 20 pistons, 16 keys, 5 sensors, 20 wires, and 4 buttons.
The green rectangles are magnetic keys and the green rectangles with a circle above them are magnetic sensors. The arrows represent pistons that extend in the indicated direction. The squares and triangles are blocks of material. The blocks with magnetic sensors on them should be made of dark matter, or otherwise fixed in space. The four input switches along the bottom are colored-coded to match the pistons they operate directly. Each of the four, inner, black arrows on the left are pistons controlled by a corresponding 3-way OR gate on the right (The connection between the magnetic sensor and piston is indicated by roman numerical. Notice that the input switch that operates the outer piston on an arm on the left does not operate a piston on the 3-way OR gate on the right that controls the inner piston on that arm. Also notice the green circles, which represent the range of the magnetic sensors at their centers
Let’s illustrate this with an example of how it works. If the button labeled A is depressed, then the red pistons will retract. This will activate the sensor on the left (which is the output of the gate) and II, III, and IV on the right. This will extend the pistons marked II, III, and IV so that the block between the pistons is outside the sensor range. Now, if any other button is pressed, OR Gate I on the right will activate, extending the last inner piston on left, deactivating the output sensor. Additionally, the retraction of any of the outer pistons will not move the magnetic keys on the outer blocks of the arms into the range of the sensor. Thus, only one switch must be pressed to activate the output switch.
