Artist's Statement
Lineage is a representation of the progressional march of time from generation to generation. The formal language borrows from the traditional grave marker, yet the dynamic overall form is contrasted with the static arrangement of contemporary grave markers. Lineage is a reinterpretation of the "family plot" in that it represents the general human family in comparison to the tradition nuclear family.
My sculpture draws upon my other work and interests in architectural design and music composition. My artwork explores the juxtaposition of spirit and matter, of nature and humanity, and of the present and the eternal.
