These glowing circular designs in this window caught my eye, reminding me a bit of an overhead view of an old maze or labyrinth. They were contrasting against the fall of night out on the street, and I thought I would try a black and white handheld night shot.

The Labyrinth Canyon Wilderness stretches along the Green River from Ruby Ranch to Mineral Bottom Road. A few miles further downstream the Green River enters Canyonlands National Park. A convenient marker for directions is the La Sal Mountains, on the horizon.

I have tried many times to get an image of a labyrinth spider and today the sun shone in the right place and the little fellah sat sunning itself. Many I know call these funnel-web spiders which thank goodness they are not because they are extremely poisonous. Labyrinth spiders are the nice UK variety.
