I APPRECIATE AWARDS, BUT I PREFER COMMENTS - OR ATLEAST COMMENTS WITH AWARDS.
Performers in The Venus Labyrinth, a performance-installation in which 28 rooms, each representing one of the 28 known areas of the human brain, are occupied by one woman. The audience member enters the labyrinth alone and then, dependent on which object they choose from a selection before them, embarks upon a completely unique journey, travelling deeper into the building, but also deeper into their own mind and memories than they may have been before.
It comes to the Arches on 20 - 25 July 2010.

Daniel Spoerri has created a labyrinth inspired by a pre-Columbian Neolithic cave drawing. He slightly modified the lines of the drawing and used a low wall to create the labyrinth on a hill. The labyrinth symbolises a cosmic union of Mother Earth and Father Sun, and features a hermaphroditic creature with a phallus and breasts as the object of the exhibition.

Did I miss a memo or something? I saw a few Labyrinth cosplayers this year and photographed one other one.
My first hand-guided router project. I bought it specifically for this project, and might upgrade it to CNC at some point. But I have more to learn about jigs like (woodgears.ca/pantograph/) that give precision, but are still hand-guided.
I was sanding this the night before flying to MSP, b/c I wanted to get it into people's hands at Eyeo. I think it fit a recurring theme there, of slowing down, taking time to be bored.

The Labyrinth is an ancient symbol meant to cement the relationship between the natural world and art with just one path to the center of the maze and one path of return. The sidewalk on which it was painted is a crossroads of the community garden, the Time Landscape, and the massive sculpture entitled “Sylvette” by Pablo Picasso. Entering the Seed Labyrinth, one slows down taking notice of nature in this busy city.
