Labyrinth.
This was a surprise on our walk down Rocky Valley near Bossiney in Cornwall. Back then in the 1980s it was labelled as Celtic.
Nowadays there are 3 schools of thought as to its origins. One is that it is truly ancient, dating back to the Bronze Age. The Celtic idea still persists, and a 3rd is that it is more recent, dating back to the building of the nearby mill (now in ruins). My money’s on Celtic.
Another surprise when we got back to our car. We’d been robbed and all our holiday money stolen (I know - stupid stupid stupid leaving it in the car). No credit cards or cash points back then. The caretaker of our holiday cottage lent us £10.00 which was just enough to cover our petrol home to Leighton Buzzard (a hell of a lot of inflation since then!)and we sent him a cheque when we got home.

Obviously a successful hunting ground - the web of this labyrinth spider was awash with dead bits of insect. It is in the throws of a spring clean.
One of the many passages and rooms in the old pub The Banshee Labyrinth in Edinburgh. This pub is said to be the most haunted in Scotland and I was there to watch my son's band Megalomatic play a gig..

Now, along with many other spirits, ‘The Banshee’ haunts this Labyrinth. When refurbishing the venue a group of workmen believed they all heard a terrifying scream. A few hours later, one of the workmen received a phone call informing him that a family member had passed away..

Wherever you choose to sit back, relax and enjoy your drink, remember to be very careful. Many have placed their drink down simply to watch it slide straight off the table and smash against a wall as if thrown by an unseen force!".

Going through my box of figs and seeing Porpentina; her face seemed to be a perfect match for Jennifer Connelly? And thus a Labyrinth vignette just have to come next. In the classic 8x8 style.
Edit: I think her jeans are too dark. Light blue would fit better.
Lalibela churches, all connected by a labyrinth thine of narrow and deep passages, tunnels, small canyons, and bridges…
I have Labyrinth on my mind because it is my four year wedding anniversary(and the day was subtly Labyrinth themed, as it has been my favorite movie since my parents brought me to see it as a child).
My grandmother's dress was altered to open up the neck and shoulders, wire skirt added underneath to "poof" out the bottom, and the sleeves pointed at the hand, all to resemble Sarah's dress. The chairs in the ballroom reception are the same chairs featured in the Labyrinth's ball scene, except in gold. Our first song was David Bowie's "As the World Falls Down" from the movie's soundtrack. And last, a small gold framed photo of Jareth and Sarah dancing was on the gift/guest book table : )

And yes, I had to replace the sky in Photoshop as it looked awful and all blown out. Perhaps it could have been done better, but it took me a long time to figure this out as all I normally do in Photoshop is perspective correction and border addition.

This cropped photo was taken with a Zenza Bronica S2 medium format film camera and Nikkor-H 1:3.5 f=5 cm lens with a Hoya HMC 82mm Y[K2] filter using Ilford HP5 Plus 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered using Photoshop.
