16. A Labyrinth of Ice – Glacier des Bossons
July 2024
90 × 60 cm, Alu-Dibond
Italiaans

On the flanks of Mont Blanc, the Glacier des Bossons plunges into the valley in a chaotic cascade of ice. This glacier is famous for its spectacular seracs, towering ice pinnacles formed where the glacier accelerates and fractures. Between them open deep crevasses, sometimes meters wide, turning the glacier’s surface into a perilous maze.
It may look like a frozen landscape of ruins, but everything is in motion. Day and night, gravity reshapes and shifts the ice. What stands firm today may collapse tomorrow.
The Glacier des Bossons was once connected to the Taconnaz Glacier and extended all the way to the valley floor. Now, it retreats year by year.

Just like a spy through smoke and lights
I escaped through the back door of the world
and I saw things getting smaller
fear as well as temptation.
Now everything is reflection as I make my way through this labyrinth
and my sense of direction
is lost like the sound of my steps
is lost like the sound of my steps.
Scent of dried flowers and I'm walking through the fog
walking through the fog
Scent of dried flowers and I'm walking through the fog
walking through the fog
I see my memories in black and white
they are neglected by space and time
I store all my days in boxes
and left my whishes so far behind
I find my only salvation in playing hide and seek in this labyrinth
and my sense of connection
is lost like the sound of my steps
is lost like the sound of my steps.
Scent of dried flowers and I'm walking through the fog
walking through the fog
Scent of dried flowers and I'm walking through the fog
walking through the fog
Words sounds music and I'm spinning in
Words sounds music and I'm spinning out
but I want to stay here
'cause I am waiting for the rain
and I want it to wash away
everything, everything, everything.
Scent of dried flowers and I'm walking through the fog
walking through the fog
Scent of dried flowers and I'm walking through the fog
walking through the fog
Scent of dried flowers and I'm walking through the fog
walking through the fog
Scent of dried flowers and I'm walking through the fog
walking through the fog

As a child, my eldest daughter liked the movie "Labyrinth" with David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly, and a variety of Muppets. As a result, this is what you get with her first child, Sam, now 7 months.

Oh, and i framed it as a rectangle. Don't know why but i feel lika abandonning the square format, only for a while.
A. labyrinthica build flat plate surface webs connected to funnel-shaped retreats similar to labyrinths, which are typically constructed between low lying grass and vegetation
"The room it opens into is full of feathers that flutter downward. When you walk through them, they fall like snow over the door in the floor, obscuring it from sight. There are six identical doors. You choose one at random, trailing a few feathers with you. The scent of pine is overwhelming as you enter the next room to find yourself in a forest full of evergreen trees."
-Labyrinth, The Night Circus
ahh finally I took pictures. This concept has been in my head ever since I read this chapter of the Night Circus about a year ago. I love when I have an idea in my head and I mull it over again and again until I'm finally able to make it happen. Seeing the finished product is the most amazing feeling ever. Oh and I have a series that I'm working on too. :) Happy Holidays

It features a built in removable ball storage container, travel lock, and interchangeable mazes. I also designed a Space themed and Medieval themed maze, which you can see in the next image.

Bond Street Labyrinth 187/270 - Art on the Underground
Mark Wallinger, one of the UK’s leading contemporary artists, has created a major new artwork for London Underground to celebrate its 150th anniversary. The result, commissioned by Art on the Underground, is a multi-part work on a huge scale that will be installed in every one of the Tube’s 270 stations. Wallinger sees the commission as a unique opportunity to explore the potential of the Underground as a whole. Wishing to forge a poetic link with the Tube’s rich history of graphic language, he has made a work that sits comfortably alongside the two of its major design icons, the roundel and Harry Beck’s Tube map, and yet stands out as a new symbol marking the Tube’s 150th year. I post from the archives a lot! Mostly because pictures taken on any given occasion become old really fast if you upload just one at a time. But also because I don't have much time these days and when I do have time, it is too damn hot to go out and shoot.
So this is another one from a few months ago. I took it with an iPhone, but added texture in Photoshop. There are actually iPhone apps which allow you to add texture and they even have the same blending modes as Photoshop layers do, but I was too lazy to go through any additional steps.
