From the city centre of Lund - these houses generally date to the 18th and 19th century. And they have the lamp-post to match.

Halloween_ Gröna Lund is open both during Autumn break and the weekend before so everyone will experience the dark side of the park hanging out with good witches and enchanting entertainment , climb on hay bales , ride the spider bay and ghost cars , get a face faint and be enchanted by this year's kid show _ 2019

Heading into the historic center, I could already feel this city’s majesty.

The cathedral.

As a typical Romanesque building, Lund Cathedral is distinctively dark, with only small windows to allow sunshine to pass through. The Latin-cross church has three aisles and a transept. The quire (under the crossing) has splendid gothic choir stalls from the 1370s. The gothic winged-altarpiece of the main chapel of the apse dates from 1398.

The cathedral's south aisle has an information counter, a globe of light and various exhibitions.

As I have lived in Lund for over 20 years, it is sometimes easy to forget the quiet impressive things you can see here, that are more or less on your doorstep (or at least just 15 minutes away by bus). As the case of the town cathedral - founded in the 12th century, when Lund became the see of the archbishop for the whole of the Nordic countries (needless to say, it's not anymore).

It was built in Romanesque style, but has seen extensive renovations since then (the most hard-handed one must be the 19th century one - when the aim was to give the place a more imposing, properly medieval flavour).

Fun fact: Lund university was founded in 1668, and in the first decades the church was used as the place to teach the students! (Well, most of the students aimed at becoming priests, so not completely unsuitable, I suppose.)

Lund is a borough and district in the city of Kristiansand which lies in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is the second largest borough in the city after Vågsbygd. In 2015, the population was about 30,000. Lund is divided into 4 districts: Lund (centrum), Gimlekollen, Justvik, and Ålefjær.

Lund lies to the north and west of Topdalsfjorden-Ålefjærfjorden and to the East of the river Otra. The borough of Oddernes lies to the east and the boroughs of Kvadraturen and Grim lie to the west. North of the borough is the municipality of Vennesla.

The University of Agder is located at Lund along with Kristiansand Cathedral School.

The Church of Norway has three churches in Lund: Lund Church, Justvik Church, and Oddernes Church. Oddernes Church was one of the first churches to be built in Kristiansand.

There are three bridges connecting Lund to the city center Kvadraturen: "Lundsbroa", "Oddernesbrua" and "Christian Quartbroa". Before Oddernesbrua was built, the Lundsbroa was the main way to the east. Today, the Oddernesbrua is a part of the European route E18 highway, and the bridge ends in a tunnel. The Lundsbroa is a part of Fylkesvei 471, which eventually joins up with the E18. The recently opened Christian Quartbroa footbridge is located between the other two bridge connections.

Public transportation is available by bus, all local buses headed eastbound have more than one stop at Lund. There are also buses that go "deeper" into Lund. Line 13 Grimsmyra-Lund goes to Kuholmen in Lund, a place south of Lund, while Line 19 Suldalen-Lund UiA, follows Riksvei 471 to the University.

The Kirk of St Olaf, Lund, Unst. Probably dating back to the 12th century, last used in 1785. Has graves of two Bremen merchants, important traders in Shetland in 16th century. The graveyard is still in use.

Re-post - originally posted on Flickr in August 2009. The main building of Lund university (usually not used for lectures, though I did have a few of them there back in the day), and one of several magnolias in front of the building, which have become quite the trademark for the town.

In April 2014, the new City Hall Kristallen in Lund was inaugurated with a ceremony for the 500 employees who then moved in in May. The crystal houses several of the municipality's administrations with its total of 500 workplaces on approximately 11,000 square meters of office space. The building has an ambitious environmental profile with environmentally friendly materials and an advanced energy concept. Creative solutions allow the surface to be utilized in an efficient and flexible way.

Senab acted as interior supplier and in close cooperation with the architect and customer we delivered furniture according to the wishes of Lund municipality. Through their choice of furniture, colors, materials and lighting, they strived to create a welcoming municipal hall and a pleasant environment for both employees and visitors. "One should be proud to work in the Crystal and be happy to visit the Crystal."

Senab Interior supplied office furniture, conference room and restaurant furniture as well as furniture for public areas. This is the single largest project that the Senab Syd business area has delivered. In addition to the furniture delivery itself, Senab also handled logistics and assembly.

Non-Violence, also known as The Knotted Gun, is a bronze sculpture by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd of an oversized Colt Python .357 Magnum revolver with its muzzle tied in a knot.

Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd made this sculpture after the murder of John Lennon. Following the unveiling of the original sculpture, Reuterswärd did a range of replicas of Non Violence for places around the world, numbering about 30 sculptures. About half of these are in Sweden.
