Halloween edition was on fire! The URBAN SCIENCE crew aka CLOCKWORK ORANGE droogs brought a bit of the old ultra-violence with horror movie soundtrack hip-hop remixes, BASICS opened the night with a mix of original material and freestyle, MARK THE MAGNANIMOUS laid down the spooky laughs and scary tracks,
FIELDS OF FLAVOUR fed us with wings, chop chicken, slaw, and sweet potato fries, and APRIL ANNA was on-site for your makeup needs! A huge thank you to MANIKMATI PHOTOGRAPHY for the amazing shots!

Une des meilleurs sets d'ouverture de URBAN SCIENCE la semaine dernière! On a apporté le feu avec un tout nouveau repertoire de beats qui ont clairement inspiré le band! On plus, on célèbrait l'anniversaire du propriétaire de Le Bleury-Bar à Vinyle, Mr. Seb Fauteux, sur les platines pour la soirée! Les sons du neo-soul/rnb/pop de mael était en première partie avec son full band- vraiment full full full avec 9 musiciens sur scène! We were witness to a supreme display of freestyle rap skills, with every single competitor in the 7th edition of #LEFREESTYLE bringing the fire. EOW veteran MONK.E took home the crown but newcomer MAV held his own in second place. None of our competitors were slouches - SCARP, YASKA, JBENLAD, VINNI FRUM THA BLOCK- a jaw-dropping display from every single one of you! A big thank you to our judges WALLA-P and WOODMAN, it was no easy task. And to round out the evening we of course had the #LECYPHER jam session with URBN SCNC, WALLA-P also there to brought the funk, and DOBE & ANDY brought a new variation on their classic Chinese BBQ, with peking duck wraps and veggie fried rice.
And it is with utmost pleasure that we are looking forward this week to our YEAR TWO anniversary, featuring a tribute to THE ROOTS, the incredible MILLA THYME's debut EP launch "Eternally the Student", DOBE & ANDY back with more good stuff to keep you fed, MARK THE MAGNANIMOUS on the decks, and a special YEAR TWO $2 COVER CHARGE. Ain't no excuses. Come celebrate with us!

Very nice musical moments and new discoveries last week at #LECYPHER! Robertson fka Bullfrog began the evening with their funk-tinged soul sounds, as part of the Canadian leg of their tour, just before heading off to France for a few dates. ASMA was on deck with his customarily all-vinyl set. And we munched on samosas and pakoras courtesy Nantha's Kitchen. Bianca Lecompte was there to document the night- thank you for the great photos! Thank you to everyone who braved the torrential downpour and came out and jammed with us.
Next week, get your costumes on for #LECYPHER HALLOWEEN EDITION! We'll be remixing horror movie themes into hip-hop beats for this very special edition. Man, there was some serious foolishness at last week's #LECYPHER, and those moments were captured by the incredible photography of MANIKMATI. KRYSTALE and her stellar band opened it up with a short but sweet set of her original material, URBAN SCIENCE took the stage with first-time guest host NOX afterwards, and the jam session hosted an extensive list of both familiar faces and newcomers. MARK THE MAGNANIMOUS kept the vibe tight and inspired. An astounding 22 instrumentalists and 12 vocalists joined us on stage, not to mention all the wonderful people chilling and hanging with us. Great night.

We were witness to a supreme display of freestyle rap skills, with every single competitor in the 7th edition of #LEFREESTYLE bringing the fire. EOW veteran MONK.E took home the crown but newcomer MAV held his own in second place. None of our competitors were slouches - SCARP, YASKA, JBENLAD, VINNI FRUM THA BLOCK- a jaw-dropping display from every single one of you! A big thank you to our judges WALLA-P and WOODMAN, it was no easy task. And to round out the evening we of course had the #LECYPHER jam session with URBN SCNC, WALLA-P also there to brought the funk, and DOBE & ANDY brought a new variation on their classic Chinese BBQ, with peking duck wraps and veggie fried rice.
And it is with utmost pleasure that we are looking forward this week to our YEAR TWO anniversary, featuring a tribute to THE ROOTS, the incredible MILLA THYME's debut EP launch "Eternally the Student", DOBE & ANDY back with more good stuff to keep you fed, MARK THE MAGNANIMOUS on the decks, and a special YEAR TWO $2 COVER CHARGE. Wow, we had a blast with the inaugural edition of the #LEMOUVEMENT dance battle competition, exhibition match style. We were witness to a supreme display of freestyle rap skills, with every single competitor in the 7th edition of #LEFREESTYLE bringing the fire. EOW veteran MONK.E took home the crown but newcomer MAV held his own in second place. None of our competitors were slouches - SCARP, YASKA, JBENLAD, VINNI FRUM THA BLOCK- a jaw-dropping display from every single one of you! A big thank you to our judges WALLA-P and WOODMAN, it was no easy task. And to round out the evening we of course had the #LECYPHER jam session with URBN SCNC, WALLA-P also there to brought the funk, and DOBE & ANDY brought a new variation on their classic Chinese BBQ, with peking duck wraps and veggie fried rice.
And it is with utmost pleasure that we are looking forward this week to our YEAR TWO anniversary, featuring a tribute to THE ROOTS, the incredible MILLA THYME's debut EP launch "Eternally the Student", DOBE & ANDY back with more good stuff to keep you fed, MARK THE MAGNANIMOUS on the decks, and a special YEAR TWO $2 COVER CHARGE. Halloween edition was on fire! The URBAN SCIENCE crew aka CLOCKWORK ORANGE droogs brought a bit of the old ultra-violence with horror movie soundtrack hip-hop remixes, BASICS opened the night with a mix of original material and freestyle, MARK THE MAGNANIMOUS laid down the spooky laughs and scary tracks,
FIELDS OF FLAVOUR fed us with wings, chop chicken, slaw, and sweet potato fries, and APRIL ANNA was on-site for your makeup needs! A huge thank you to MANIKMATI PHOTOGRAPHY for the amazing shots!

Wow, we had a blast with the inaugural edition of the #LEMOUVEMENT dance battle competition, exhibition match style. A big thank you to all of our sponsors, Éric Valiquette - Illustrations, Restaurant Dobe & Andy, Phan Hoi Do Photography, McGill Student Street Dancers, and our host Emil from Cyphersons. This night was also the triumphant return of Joshua Clarke - Scynikal, newly crowned End Of the Weak WORLD CHAMPION. We've always known he's great, and now the rest of the world knows! Rounding out the event was our guest host UrbN LogiX, Mark Magnanimous on the 1s and 2s, and Restaurant Dobe & Andy with their tasty chinese BBQ.
