One perk of having jetlag is that I get to experience the calm of early mornings in a way that I never do back home - and this was true again for the year's trip to Japan. It really is a special feeling to see a metropolis wake up, and being more or less alone while doing so (apart from a jogger or two).
Taken from Takeshiba Pier with a view towards the Sumida river as it works its way down to Tokyo bay. The bridge is Tsukiji Great Bridge - connecting the old mainland and the reclaimed land that is the area Tsukiji (constructed in the 18th century in what was once the marshy river delta - the name Tsukiji literally means reclaimed, or constructed, land).

I've been to London a bunch of times but never walked over the Tower Bridge - couldn't sleep - thanks jetlag - so went for a walk and found myself on the bridge - caught a bus with my camera balanced on a rail.

Trip to Croatia followed the same path as previous trip covering both Zagreb & Ljubljana, Slovenia. Had very little time this trip but woke up early to hang out with my old friend jetlag and went for a walk to snap a few pics including this one!
In a state of perpetual jetlag for last 5 months with international trips each month. Finally home for a while - the whole month of November - looking forward to being stationary for a while! Pictured here - the morning sun rises and burns thru the fog over a fishing village in the Celebes Sea. Picture taken from small boat on the way back to Borneo mainland from Derawan Island.
Another image courtesy of jetlag - this time a pic of Tower Bridge from London Bridge. Apparently the "original" London Bridge was falling down so in 1968, an American tycoon bought London Bridge—all 10,000 tons of it—and moved it brick-by-brick to the desert town of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. I didn't not know that until a few year ago - kinda blows my mind!

what would you do when you can't sleep caused by a jetlag? I was looking for hours and hours through the window and i saw a lot of stars outside but no sandman. So i thought arround 02:30: let's go outside and start searching for the sandman arround Orion ;-)
To be honest: it was a bit scary in this foggy circumstances to stand still for about 25 sec. in the middle of the night with the noise from the trees and small animals arround me. After taking a few shots i went home and finally i fell asleep after a nice conversation with my good old friend Ruby Port 20%
I'm not familiar with this kind of photography so it's an amature image ;-)

Jetlag had me up for sunrise taking a stroll. This black swan was swimming along in a space between the docks right on the lakefront in downtown Rotorua.

At the Tong Tong Fair
A visit to Asia & the Pacific without the jetlag!
The Tong Tong Fair (1959) in The Hague is the biggest Eurasian fair in the world. The event is a sensory stimulating blend of cultural festival, exhibition and food fest rolled into one, held in an archipelago of tents and stands. In 2017 it will take place for the 59th time. One of the biggest attractions is the Tong Tong Festival, with hundreds of performances spread over 12 days. The daily entry ticket for the Tong Tong Fair also includes a theatre pass for the Tong Tong Festival.
So, if you don’t have the time or money to travel all the way to Southeast Asia, come to the Tong Tong Fair in The Hague and imagine that you are in the East. The Tong Tong Fair comprises the immense Grand Pasar, the famous East-West exhibition with hundreds of stands offering Eastern merchandise and food. Many of the exhibitors come all the way from Indonesia especially for the event; a growing number come from Vietnam and Malaysia. Equally famous is the Food Court with dozens of restaurants and ‘warungs’; it is one of the biggest of its kind in Europe.

We took a relaxing walk along the Serpentine in Hyde Park on our first evening in London. Great way to recover from jetlag.

Just returned home from last weeks Chicago visit. Still a bit suffering jetlag and some blisters on my feet, but overall, a great week and also overall fortunable weather with all included. Back home again...
and oh boy am I fighting with jetlag at the moment. No fun.:( Kinda forgot how it feels like and also not a good way to start off work. But enough of that.;)
I had quite the emotinal journey flying over there. Seeing everyone and visiting my grandpa's gravestone really shook me up a bit. And to know how much I still miss him..
but this trip also showed me what really matters in life. Having a loving family and friends..even if they are miles away.❤
