Seattle, WA - Georgetownians celebrate the grand opening of their lavish, new $375 million casino this November 2009. The 170,000 square-foot facility features 1,700 electronic slot machines and five restaurants and a gas station. The celebration is headlined with a concert by William "Billy Dawg" Avey and Jessica Simpson Friday night. An estimated 30,000 people could travel to the casino before Saturday morning, and the Seattle Police department is warning of huge traffic backups.

The monolithic Hat ‘n’ Boots casino was originally constructed as a Texaco gas station in 1954, comprised of steel beams, chicken wire, concrete, and plaster. Consistently painted a rich red/orange, the 44-foot tall cowboy hat and its 60-foot brim span housed the original office, and a pair of 22-foot high cowboy boots contained the separate men’s and lady’s restrooms.

The original gas station was designed by Bulford Seals. Says Seals of his bizarrely immense testaments to cowboy living, “I always like Western get ups.” Elvis was even rumored to have stopped at the Hat ‘n’ Boots in 1962, presumably while filming “It Happened at the World’s Fair”.

The Hat ‘n’ Boots Casino rests upon Georgetown’s Oxbow Park, located on the 6400 block between Carleton Avenue South and Corson Ave South, Georgetown, WA.

Bodacious babe! Jessica Simpson walked out to meal with her partner, Eric Johnson, with Sunday, Aug. 1, in Los Angeles, dressed in quite the particular cleavage-friendly boho frock.

Simpson, 30, paired the low-cut maxi gown, crafted from semi-sheer material with a floral print, with a choker...

I chose a much more challenging background, but the result is much the same.

Exposing for the bright sun outdoors, my shutter speed had to be pushed to 1/500, stopped down to f/9. SB-900 fired CLS / TTL, which figured out how much strobe it needed. Strobe fired through my trusty Lastolite tri-grip, up and left-- slightly forward. This actually pushes the strobe, technically, into high speed sync.

An interesting change-up that worked out.

I like this casual style. The capelet turtleneck sweater looks so stylish, and must be very warm. Paired with leopard print handbag and oversized fashion sunglasses, Jessica Simpson looks so classy. This winter look definitely stands out.

My lovely wife and I decided to have a face-off making a product shot for her Jessica Simpson heels. I decided to stick with the 18-200mm, while she went with the FZ50 for macro capability.

This was a promo for Jess's latest venture...a shoe line!

Jessica Simpson was in Charleston, West Virginia performing at her concert wearing tight jeans, high black boots, and a scarf hanging around her neck down to her thighs.

celebrity gossip

After finishing up recording with Geri Halliwell I got a call from Jess pleading to bust a few duets on her state fair tour. Kinda of a sad affair but Jess seems right at home rolling the rural gig.

This will be my second tryst in a row with a fallen star, hope no one gets the false impression that I'll be cashing out my vast social capital on Hollywood's sweepings. Just helping out friends! I also have to say, contrary to what the grocery store "fashion" rags say I think the high waist double leopard belt is a sweet sweet tasty delight.

We've had decent years of phenomenal music but this just wasn't one of them! From the moment the 2000's dawned to today and until the dawn of the 2010's Hip-Hop became a big deal! From clubs, to pop radio as well as other radios and underground music have Hip-Hop. This entire decade was ruled out in the Hip-Hop espoinage with even movies, tv and internet even novels and comics and cartoons are starting to go into the Hip-Hop direction. I guess Hip-Hop is the sound of the decade! Aside of other small scenes such as Anime, Indie Rock, Death/Black Metal and the Emo Scene taking part in this decade, Hip-Hop is the current world famous crop that has most of the media's attention!

Even kids are dressing Hip-Hop, teens are dancing and living Hip-Hop (trampy prep girls and wannabe gangsta boys), adults are practically catering to Hip-Hop as escapism, so say hello to the 2000's in music!
