Dad, have I died and gone to doggie heaven?
(Bronze plaque reads:
The "Sphere"
Commissioned in 1966 for the 50th anniversary of the National Research Council of Canada, Ottawa [the building seen in reflection above Dad's centaur-like form].
Artist Art Price designed the sphere as a symbolic representation of the activities of NRC, Canada's leading agency for research in science and technology.
The highly polished sphere [somewhat scuffed now] was fabricated in four months from 10 gauge 304 stainless steel by Coulter Copper and Brass Limited of Toronto. The sphere is 3.65M [11.975 feet-why not 12?] in diameter, weighs approximately one tonne [1000kg] and is mounted in a 7.9M pool [now filled in with stone].)
