Some of my favourite builds on display at BRICK2015. Clearly these models aren't mine. I'll be posting links to the proper owners shortly.

Took down my old Hoth and the majority of the white pieces had yellowed a bit. Spend last month turning these and other white pieces white again with hydrogen peroxide and Oxi-clean, probably like 18,000 to 20,000 pieces. Not an easy process doing that many. Been doing this for last month

Walker always beats Blaster.

This is my first attempt at creating a proper outdoor environment, and in fact I had simply wanted to test how it looked on camera. With 20 minutes to kill I decided to try and shoot something quite simple - I'd had the idea of a Stormtrooper facing off against an AT-ST for a while, so I figured this would be a good opportunity to try it. For a completely unplanned and rushed shot I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. With a little more time for lighting I think it could work quite well.

Fictional Hoth is a frozen tundra that briefly serves as a base for the hidden Rebel Alliance. It’s also the nickname of real exoplanet OGLE-2005-BLG-390, a cold super-Earth whose surface temperature clocks in at minus 364 degrees Fahrenheit.

I was inspired by Markus to do a little echo Base vignette. It spans two gray baseplates.

The angles of the nose part took a long time to achieve. Maybe one can figure it out from this pic. ;-)

I promised Hoth shots, so here you go!

Photography class was canceled today, so I got to leave early and had some time to go outside and take some shots.

I thought I'd play around with photoshop on this one. What do you guys think?

Standby Ion Control......Fire!

The first Transports are away!

Basically Blake Foster's design with mods of my own to the flaps and gun base.

Han Solo. I enjoy this character. He's one of my favourites. And I noticed I'd forgot to photograph him on Hoth. Usually the snow I let fall is only on a certain distance from the camera letting it cover the whole frame. This I've done not to lose any section of the frame with focus on the snow. Shooting Solo for the first time I tried to also let it snow in depth, outside the focus area. Seriously I need more hands:). I had to use my mouth/lips to execute wireless exposure control. This is how the camera perceived the unintended "Bokeh", of the light reflecting in the snow/baking powder.

Anything?"

"No. No signs of Rebels."

"All right, let's keep moving."

"Yeah, at least walking will help keep us a bit warmer."

―Imperial snowtrooper chatter while flushing out rebel stragglers in Echo Base.

Nearing completion. Still waiting on some bricks to arrive and the top section needs to be finished. Not bad progress for 3 days worth of work. My largest build (by footprint) thus far.

Looking at from this angle, I think I might make it longer to make room for 5 Snowspeeders and 2 X-wings.

Almost done.

Just some touch-up painting and he'll be all set to hit the snow.

May replace the plastic scarf with a cloth one at some point, too. It depends on how much time I get.

Poppy catches the wrong bus from the Hotel and, instead of the International Fair, finds herself in the Rebel Base on Hoth.

She's a hit with the Rebel Forces though... apart from a certain Princess; "this is a one chick franchise!" and she soon has poor Poppy mopping out the Tauntaun stables.

One in a series of 32x32 Star Wars scenes.

The Speeder is (superbly) desined by LarryLars.

LEGO Speederbikes with Hoth background I found on Google image search.

74-Z speeder bike, Hoth configuration. Although this wasn't seen in the Empire Strikes Back, several semi-canon sources suggest they were used on Hoth. Credit due to several builders I've borrowed ideas from on Flickr, particularly Brickdoctor, Larry Lars, and, of course, Calin.

Instructions are now available on Rebrickable.

The blue ice castles in Meaford, Ontario are pretty cool. And very popular with photographers. From certain angles, it looks like another world.

Rebel troopers are rescuing pilots of crashed snow speeder .

If pilots can not be rescued by rebel trooper immediately, they will be POW (prisoner of war) by snow trooper.

While one rebel trooper is guarding, the other is rescuing pilot.

MEDIC is coming with medical kit but, co-pilot seems to be dead.

They are going to escape that area.

Finally I completed building all 3 of my Hoth Echo Base MOCs :D! This Hangar Bay fits every LEGO-official Snowspeeder in minifig-scale, as well as every minifig-scale Snowspeeder MOC out there!

A classic Star Wars scene, reimagined in LEGO, but from a more entertaining angle.

Hey guys this is a Star Wars Hoth moc I made Hope you like it.

Lomography 100 film

Speaking of Star Wars, my time in Antarctica was a little bit like Hoth. I didn't have a tauntaun to crawl inside when I got cold, but I did have Stu Robertson. He made many of the same sounds as a tauntaun, in fact. Anyway, one day we snowmobiled out to the “airport” to see this scene. It's technically an airport, I guess, insofar as you land somewhere on this ice and can refuel for the flight back to Christchurch, New Zealand.

Se pierden las proporciones. El cerro del fondo tiene un desnivel de como 1.000 metros

Han sneaks up on a remote Empire outpost.

Because all Star Wars on ice is surely Hoth.

This was simple - just had wait for the right weather and go outside. All ice is ice, all snow is snow.. except for some on the model itself, which is actually baking soda :)

Focus is stacked from 30 frames, to maintain crispy sharpness in the whole picture. I don't do that usually, but with hyper-realistic scenes it's a killer tool.

I'm pretty satisfied with my previous version of the snowspeeder, but since they finally released this more accurate angled windshield in smoke grey I thought I should have a go at a new version of the canopy.

I'm still more fond of the look created by the clear windshield pieces so I hope LEGO will give them to us any year now.

This guy may be a little lost, but is enjoying the view of the Shield Generator.
